In my opinion, a very hasty decision has been made and only based on whines, not real facts, making a worse playing experience and not a true rebalance of ships.
Removing dronebay room only makes more tedious and boring the management of a particularly hard to manage ship. When CCP created the drone bandwith was with the only purpose of making this kind of situations less painful, as drones can be easily killed/lost. Forcing pilots to use the Supercarrier's corp hangar as a "fighter's store" only reflects this poor "rebalance".
With this changes, a carrier is way more flexible than a supercarrier, allowing more roles (remember, supercarriers can't even use triage) while a supercarrier is only a character hogging glorified dreadnought.

This tbh
It's about time SC are a powerful tool vs caps/supers and not just a powmobile hotdroping everything in game.
They will still be useful and they will still be uber ships related to ships of their size but now you don't need a 200 SC fleet to counter a 100 SC fleet, you need a good mixed ships fleet and pilots to achieve your goal, and this single point IS awesome for the whole game.

SC should be powerful but not a solopwnmobile. With the new changes their only role is being anti capital, and having no spares (and being so hard to replace: 20 bombers = 100k m^2) makes them too easily "disabled" in battle, boring and useless. |
