Aside from Filling my hold and warping back to station is there any other way to mine?
ive read somewhere about filling a Jetcan.. but i hear thats an exploit because you arnt suppose to be able to fill jetcans with items..
so any other ways to mine? like is there a way to transfer my holds ore to a hauler without using a jetcan exploit? |

You are allowed to mine into a jetcan, however, you must know that anyone can take stuff from that can. They are called ore thieves.

the system that almost everyone uses is mine the ore, deposit it in jetcan, hauler takes ore.
Yes, it is basically not working how CCP intended it to and they aren't happy but I guess they are going to let us keep doing it, we have been for years.
Personally i'd like to be able to directly trade cargo in space, approach another player to within can opening range and implement some sort of trade like in station.
This could also be used for pvp to a limited extent I guess... fast little ships supplying big ones with cap charges.
Hmmm.... for it to be fast though... aww I can't work it out, someone else take over.

That actually an awesome idea. Thinking about resupplying POS attackers with ammo. But I guess you could just jettison it next to them and they grab it... Probably faster THAT way.

Jetcans, as has been stated can be stolen from. Staying out of highly-populated systems GREATLY diminishes this risk. Jetcan minins is generally safe, just keep an eye on people popping into the field you're mining.
If you're paranoid about getting stolen from, you can always deploy Giant Secure Containers, which will safely hold your ore but are limited in size (3000m¦ I believe).

indeed, in your cargo hold, their volume is 3,000m3, but inside they can contain 3,900m3 of cargo which actually plays hand-in-hand with a common method of getting a hauler's capacity considerably higher by filling your hold with GSC's to effectively gain 900m3 per GSC you can carry.

It's been so long since I mined that little tid-bit escaped me  Now, I remember filling up my Itty IV with a few of them to maximize hauling.
