Dress up as a sheep and switch Eve into follow / boring mode.

Not at all. Goonfleet and Goonwaffe are Goon only. There are many corporations in our alliance that are not limited to goons.
As for joining BoB. I see two ways. Talk to them, contact some of their corps and ask about recruitment. Going through the forums is a terrible way to do it as you can see. Failing that... get a ship and start killing them, maybe they'll let you in if it will make you stop.

Why would you want to join BoB? Takes all the fun out of the game, go and join a fledgling corp, something just starting up, make a small name for yourselves by doing something incredibly stupid and, somewhat, getting away with it.
Join an alliance that's forming near BoB space, get hammered by BoB, make a name for yourself by taking command of a couple of fleetops during retreat. Behave yourself, don't smacktalk and give credit to someone for a good gank, even if it's vs you.
Now maybe one or two BoB players will know of you. Grind those skill points, catch up and chat with those forementioned BoB members regularly. Once you have 25mil SP, apply for BoB. This assumes of course the following:
1. The galaxy didn't ally against BoB because they hold too much turf.
2. CCP didn't ***** the ****s after BoB sent Titan's to every races Capital and dropped aurora ominaes.

Is quite simple... back 1 year ago joining BoB was a challenge, u had FA u had GIMP some really tough oponent more or less. Nowdays if u would really want a region I belive none can stop u (not making ilusions about the swarming ASCN, maybe Jovians :P). Ofc u earned it. I didn`t said that u haven`t worked alot for it.
D2 is not evan half of what G was and what other danger is here for BoB? CONCORD maybe?

how about the direct approach.
Grab you're favorite PvP ship, head to BoB space, and announce in local that you'll take on all comers, 1vs1.. if you can kill a few dozen of them without looseing your ship, I'm sure they'd take an interest in you

* Make 10+ alt accounts with 3 chars in each
* Post rather stupid, obvious questions about B00bs on EVE-O forums.
Once proficient in the above, apply :) u r certain to get accepted.

Don't bother joining BoB, they're a bunch of elitist prats and all you'd be is another robot. They will say do this do that and when, without regard that it's a game or that you might have a life outside Eve.
There are many corps and alliances out there that would do well by you, and then you would get to shoot at BoB. Killing them is much more rewarding.

Now that is a funny post.
The main reason I am in BoB is because it isn't like that (apart from the elitist bit - but there is nothing wrong with being the best, no reason to be ashamed).
In BoB we all know that RL > Eve.
When I was in Huff Technologies, and especially when I was running it, I felt a great pressure to log-in. It actually became a chore, and I grew slightly resentful.
Joining BNC was a great move for me. It came at the right time, and I am enjoying actually playing Eve, rather than dreading logging in.
I think the key to it all is respect. We are all people who enjoy a game, but that is not all we are. BoB embraces that.

Goonfleet and Goonwaffe are the two largest corps in Goonswarm and are typically what people think of when they think of our alliance. We do have a significant number of non-goons in our alliance, however.

Yeah, no offense to BoB, but I couldn't find the game near as fun with them as I do with the corp I'm in now.

I dunno...depends upon what you consider fun and where you are in your EVE "career."
Personally, I think there's something to be said for playing the game at the level of excellence that they obviously do. For people who have been in the game for a while, done a lot of what you describe (and more), there's an attraction to being a part of a group that does it better than anyone else.
