I think it would be a good addition to the game to have 2 undocking spots for each station typ. Bit of remoddeling could do it which is needed for the new grafic engine anyway and when that new grafic engine hits it in-game there must be some coding to make sure that normal ships undock from the normal undocking spot and capital ships undock from the new undocking spot. Which is preferable not between any antennes or whatever sticking out obstacle from the station.
The reasons why i would like to see this change is that mission running in a carrier or DN is very hard in mission whoring systems. You undock and this tiny bs bumps you right on station and you can wait 15 minutes before you are in warp (and they already warp so slow). Or you can dock and undock in the hope that no one else is undocking whilst you are and will bump you again.
The change will not make any difference for gameplay except that capital pilots arern't killing themself out of frustration. You could say that carriers and DN's aren't ment to run mission with, but it's possible and it works so no argument on that unless ccp decided to change that.

Stations should eject people at 50% velocity at a random arc spread out over 15 degrees or so.
Just that would be enough to massively reduce congestion at station exits.

You've never tried to undock from a horrible downwards spiral undocking station then? No matter whether you're in a shuttle, frigate, BS or Capital ship, you bounce off the station (and consequently lose your alignment) when trying to instaundock. Just trying to get my Raven out of one makes me cry - I can't imagine what getting a freighter out of one would be like. -- #include <disclaimer.h> |

Just make undocking work like gate jumping - the ship should appear in random location within docking perimeter, stationary. Undocked ships being stationary initially will help campers to catch them.

once when i used to run missions out of the Jita system, someone parked an obliesk in such a mannar that any ship undocking would collide with the obliesk, turn around, then crash into whatever ship was undocking at the time turn around then just end up as a big mash of ship and station

You must mean that horrible disc shaped gallente station. Thing in the bottom of it prevents even shuttle to escape instantly. Amarr stations that undocks downwards are fine as far i know.

You know.. you really shouldnt run missions in a carrier , but stations could use more undock points.
