I've been flying a cyclone for a bit now, mainly just mission running with it and it works well for that. My question is how is the cyclone for solo pvp? The setups listed in the forum seem to be more mission and ratting fits. Im not accualy looking to pirate in one but just currious, can they be used that way and what would the setup be?
The RMR setups sugest ac/nos, shield tank (oviously) with pdu's and gyros in the low. Im assuming the ac's are medium but since most attacks seem to come from frig/cruiser sized ships would there be a benifti to going with small ac's?
Thanks in advance

Personally, my option, for biggers ships, has always been to fit your ship to target other ships that size, and use your drones to take out the smaller ones.
I think the main problem with BC's is, there aren't any guns that fit to it's requirements, i'm just going off on a tangent here, i've never flown one so i'm not 100%.
I'd fit it with crusier-based weapons, with light or medium drones to complement it against inties / frigs.

Cyclone is excellent for pvp given that when solo pvping you usualy are able to chose to engage or not...ergo most ships are good for solo pvp.
However with decent skills and a the 'normal' AC/Nos/Shield tank setup you can deal a large amount of damage while breaking the tank of the opponent with relative speed. The only problem you may encounter is ships escaping your range due to the fact you may not have fitted a web. Therefore I usually fit a web drone and fill the rest of the bay with smalls n meds.
With a web drone or more plus an mwd or a stasis web you should not have too much trouble with more than one smaller sized opponents altough two cruisers can be testing depending on both of your ingame and out of game skill levels. **************************

I was thinking about this a few weeks back too and came to the conclusion that you just aint got enough cap on it to be good solo imo.
Any BS will blow you out of the water and any cruiser will be too fast and agile for you to use autocannons on so the best bet is 720t2 with t2 ammo and use the nice alpha strike. Even then im not sure 1vs1 youd be any good as a frigate would most likely be gone before you got a lock or too fast to hit without a webber drone. And cruisers would a real pain if they mwd close enough to you to make your guns useless.
Anyway my best idea was 720t2 with webber and light t2 drones gyros/pds/wcs only point of shields on this would be to give you long enough to get the hell out of there if anything gets close.
However think it would be very nice if you took along a couple of buddies in inty's to tackle while you kick as then you could also drop your drones for t2 meds
BC always been a gang/fleet ship in my book guess thats why they made them field and fleet command ships

In gang I would use arty + shield tank but for solo work this is solid:
3x Med NOS, 5x 220mm MWD, 20k Scram, ECM, Web, Med Cap Booster Med Rep, Explosive + Kinetic + Thermic Hardeners.
Nos is more for offense unless you have good missiles skills then T2 missiles would be good since cap booster can keep everything running. ECM gives that extra bit of survivability from not using the shield booster bonus.
Enjoy.

What she said looks best to me just never liked the cyclones chances up close as mine moves like a brick in treacle when i want to warp.

Mila Prestoc's setup is the same I currently use. Works excellent for solo pvp, can engage anything battlecruiser and lower 2v1 as long as one isnt a blackbird =X
