I searched, I read the guide. I'm still fuzzy on a few things.
Frist. Are medium intensive refining arrays in game? They show on the item database, but no one talks about them. Do they exist?
Second. When using a refining array, do you need a silo? And a coupler?
Third. If a system has no POS's, and I put up a medium, that POS will take SOV right?
Thanks. ___________________________________________ The deeper you stick it in your vein, the deeper the thoughts there's no more pain. ___________________________________________ |

First Question - never used one sorry
Second Question - No other structures apart from the Tower is needed... just load it up with a single type of ore, start the refine process, and wait.
Third Question - The medium POS will claim SOV only if you choose to do so - doing so will stake a claim, and save you fuel if you manage to get SOV, but it could also attract unwanted attention.
Have fun

Yes, mediums are in the game. Check Jita. Here is the deal though: Mediums can only hold 25k m3 of ore at a time and it takes 1.5 hours for the refinery to refine the ore. And to top it off you can only have 1 type of ore. And that means there cannot be Triclinic Bistot and regular bistot. Has to be one at a time. But if all being the same and you plan on mining a whole lot from my experience a large would be more effecient. One, it holds 200k m3 at a time and only takes 3 hours per refine. Granted, that means a large tower atleast. But saves a LOT of time.

Thanks. I'll keep researching. Its looking like a large tower is the way to go.
Also, one more question. Do starbase modules have fuel requirments other than just the tower itself?
What I mean is, does having a refinery and some missle launchers change the fuel usage of the tower? ___________________________________________ The deeper you stick it in your vein, the deeper the thoughts there's no more pain. ___________________________________________ |

Yes. That is why if you are not using a refinery or some such module for awhile that you offline it to save fuel.

The fuel requirements are actually based on your CPU/PG usage and only relate to Heavy Water/Liquid Ozone consumption. So all modules that consume the same amount of power/cpu consume the same fuel for the tower. I'm pretty sure that Racial Isotope/Empire Product are constant based on what kind of tower you use.

couple quick comments
a) large tower is rough to handle solo, so get friends/partners b) you will not use more fuel than is already listed in the fuel requirements of "show info" when you click on a tower on market .. sov reduces it greatly though and if your thinking large, i would definately suggest doing so ... all the fuel except heavy water and liquid ozone stay constant and will not change(cept if you have sov) .. heavy water/liquid ozone fuel requirements is based on how much cpu/power you actually use, so if you only use half your towers cpu, then you can cut your heavy water fuel stat in half and there you have it .. or once you have it all setup, divide the total by the number of hours it says it will last and there is your true consumption per hour
