Hello everyone!
Well first of all this game is INCREDIBLE!
i have couple questions regarding the basics that i would like to ask you, so bear with me for a bit ok?
1)To start off i desided to go with Mining profession. And i got told in-game that to do that efficiently i will need to get a hauler. Well if i understand correctly i will need some skills and some money right?
2)Does it matter where to sell the ore? I meen do people need it at all?
3)Should i create a clone as soon as possible and keep it updated no matter how much it costs?
4)Is there any way for a beginner player to increase the skill training speed?
that is all for now... Talk to you all laters!

1) yeah if i remmeber corectly skill will cost u 250k and hauler will cost somethik like that
2)best idea is to look at market and find where minerals has highter price to sell
3)yes its good idea, but if u new clone wil not cost u much isk so that not a problem
4)use implants , train lerning skills

1) you will need a cruiser to mine effectively, with this cruiser you mine and jettison to a cargo container, open the container and keep dropping ore into it, you then get a hauler to come and pick up the goods. 2)to start with no it doesnt matter, mine scordite and sell at a station of your choosing, do not refine the ore into minerals, however until you have your refining skill up to about lvl4 sell the ore raw! create a clone asap, but only go for a clone that has a higher skill point storage than your current skill points however, if you have 300k sp dont buy a clone that has 4mill sp storage as it will be wasted, you would go for a clone that is close to your sp but bigger. 4) skil training speed can be done by buying and training the learning skills, there are 5 basic learning skills . Learning, spatial awareness, iron will, empathy, perception. these increase your attribute values by 1 per level, and the learning skill increases them all by 2% per level, so i would get them and train them , however dont sit there all week training them all to lvl4 as you will getr bored, train them but dont let them prevent you from training fun skills.
as another note i know it is normally frowned upon in this forum but if you are uk based or close to uk timezone and are looking for a corp evemail me ingame.

I'm Gallente. My first whole hearted mining operation used an Exequror with two miner II's and a Gausian, along with an Iteron I to haul. I kept four Hornet drones up and the fourth high was a railgun. I was pretty safe above 0.5, toast below. When in doubt sacrafice your drones!
You'll need to train up Industrial ships to lvl 1 to get an entry level hauler.

skills required are spaceship command lvl3, (your race) frigate lvl3 , and (your race) industrial to lvl1.
just as a pointer for you , if you look on the market at any ship/ module etc and click the little i by the module name you can show all the info on that module, including skill requirements ----------------------------------------------- winmau industries now recruiting ,looking for combat pilots/miners, convo me or evemail me ingame for details |

1. Yes. I'd start out in your racial mining frigate (Bantam, Tormentor, etc. Look for the frigate with the mining bonus in the description :)). Once you acquire enough cash, buy an Industrial ship to help you move ore.
2. You're looking for a good price :). It doesn't matter who you sell it to, but it will always be a player (NPCs don't buy anything except for trade goods and some criminal tags and effects). You can also pickup some refining skills and refine your ore into minerals.
3.You have a clone already, but always keep it up to date, or risk losing some skillpoints should you be killed by a player pirate in low security space.
4. Implants, learning skills (the whole category :)). ---- EVE-Central.com - Cross-region market view and trade finder |

This is an example of a low level hauler (you can choose one of whichever race's ships you are concentrating on).
You can find these pages in the Item Database (on left) and they show things like the skills needed to use the item.

1. You will need to train (racial) Frigate to lv3 and Spaceship Command to lv3 as a prerequsite for the Industrial skill.
2. You will find many players have already put up buy orders for your ore and minerals in the station you start at. If you are patient you can usually find a much better price further away.
3. It's always good to get into the habit of making sure your current clone covers your skillpoints. Even if it means putting off a new ship for a couple of days make sure your clone is up to date!
4. If you train Science to lv3 you can eventually learn the Cybernetics skill. This skill will allow you to start fitting implants. There are many types of implants available, many of which increase your attributes which will speed up learning times.
Also check out the Stations, Starbases & Outposts forum for all your industial needs

Take a look at the stickies at the top of this very fine forum. There are lots of answers hidden away....
1) the effecient way they are on about is jetcan mining (jettison a cargo can and drag the contemts of your hold into it). This means the can can hold FAR more than your hold can and so if you have a hauler, you can fill the can, dock, swap to hauler the make a few trips to empty it rather than lots of little ones. (cuts down on warp-approach-dock-warp-approach times). Insta Bookmarks, help as they place you on top of the object you are warping to.(use the forum search to look up how to do em right, sounds easy but there is a knack to em). Watch out for ore thieves with this method as your can is prone to thievery. you get the chance to shoot back a flagged ore thief but i would avoid that at your early stage unless you are sure you can win or afford to lose. 2)Use the markets advanced screen to check prices and set somewhere near the top, but don't overprice yourself. and YES people need ore/refined minerals to build stuff. 3)YES, but don't buy too high a clone, it's waste of money if you do get podded. Aim to get one you can comfortably afford, maybe the next but one up on the list. 4) There is an excellent thread Here
Hope that helps!!

wow! so far i can say that Eve online community is the friendliest out there! I love this game!!!
so much information... i guess i should start off slow than... as soon as i get back home from work I will try to get my hands on some Learning skills and train them while doing minor mining with my starter ship... overnight and while offline i will be training skills that require longer time like rank 3 frigate and rank 3 starship command...
did i miss something?

Sounds like a plan Thats the best way to handle skills as well, always train a long one while you're not playing. ---- EVE-Central.com - Cross-region market view and trade finder |

one more thing... how does the clone work? does it save all skills on the moment of purchase or it saves skills up to the moment of death? There is no limit to Perfection... |

Up to the moment of death for the standard clone (there are also jump clones, but worry about those next week).

IIRC there are 10 slots (see market browse) and each supports one class of implants (int bonus being 1 class). So, unfortunately to add an int +2 implant you will have to yank that int +1.

Another point I picked up here on the forum that I found helpful.
Label your jet can with the time you started. They have a relatively short life span ( ie Scor07:15) . I empty them out and start anew after each hauler load (~ 6,500 m3).
Sounds like you're on the road to success. Take care, stay alert!

I've yet to find an official answer on the "when do they pop?" question, but I can honestly say from personal experience, I've never seen a can pop before the 1hour mark, and have seen some of my cans last over 2 hours.
Recently though I don't let my jetcan's live longer than 30minutes, as I pop them myself. =)

Better safe than sorry, I say. You can drag contents of one can to the next, so every 30 minutes I jettison a new one and drag over. The old one pops, and the new one has a new countdown timer.

How profitable is noob mining? I can earn about 100k isk an hour running agent missions. Is mining better, worse or about the same as that?

They can take your ore in high security as well. The difference:
Highsec - they take your ore, wait for you to shoot back, and then are free to blow you up
Lowsec - they blow you up, and often times don't bother with the ore
