I don't usually bother this forum with clan news, but I make this one exception and give you the following newspiece from planetside, Matar:
"Clan Rhiannon (of Matar) is proud and happy to announce the completion of negotiations with clan Quildar (of Odatrik), and the subsequent signing of a contract of marriage between Elsebeth, of Rhiannon, and Masim, of Rhiannon, from Quildar.
As the customs of both families agree, the engagement will be celebrated on Quildar premises (during 08/108) and the wedding ceremony itself will be held in Rhiannon on Matar after a customary period reserved for the couple to spend together.
Since Elsebeth and Masim are both capsuleer pilots, currently flying under the flag of Gradient, of Namtz'aar K'in, a celebration among pilots will be arranged in space after the wedding."
(( OOC: this news has nothing to with the relationships of the players in question. Yes, it's lame that I have to stress this. ))

Congratulations Elsebeth, I'm glad to hear you've found your perfect mate.... or at least a good mate for the time being.

I will offer you gifts of marriage, though the last two people I gave a wedding gift turned around and stabbed their former friends like rabid hyena, forever ruining their honor. Hopefully your marriage will lead to a stronger code rather than causing a fall into lameness.

I hope my streak of bad luck with wedding gifts ends here, last time the crazy she-devil turned on her friends and committed political suicide. I expect better from you. If women like you were in charge of the Republic I doubt IĘd feel the urge to fight for its downfall. Then again, maybe not.

I noticed no mention of God in this wedding announcement nor did I see mention of a religious leader performing the "ceremony". One can only imagine the native Minmatar dancing around a fire somewhere howling at the moon while doing some strange mating dance.
I would encourage Elsebeth to turn herself over to the SPCS for training as a slave and servant of God. We Amarr are not cruel and she would be allowed to marry after the customary five year waiting period and the approval by her master. But this wedding would be blessed by a Priest and done for God not themselves.
Perhaps in the future Elsebeth will have the opportunity to experience a real wedding for God if she is fortunate enough to be rescued from her life on Matar.

You wouldn't think it strange if you had some once in a while. Course even working girls have their standards, and who knows what kind of scars and ugly you have hidden under that hood...so I'm not very surprised that you assign such rancor to a basic function of the species.

The ceremony is private, between families. It is not customary for Rhiannon to chatter about clan religious customs with outsiders, though they are not secrets as such, and even less would I do so on a public forum frequented by followers of the evil god.

Second, Archbishop. You are free and welcome to try and "rescue" Elsebeth, I would be very pleased to offer your head to her as a wedding gift. Your damned god will not protect you if you come near her.
Oh, and do take your lapdogs with you, I'm sure she would not mind multiple gifts.

You know, I dunno about the Rhiannon wedding ceremony details, but in some Thukker tribes we always hire a clown to try and derail the whole thing. If he can't, we're pretty sure the lucky two mean it: That sort of thing you know?
You're damn funny. If you're free I'll make you an offer you can't resist, but talk to me in private: Traditionally the wedding couple isn't supposed to know in advance what exactly is going to happen.
This is gonna be a fun party, better start stockpiling provisions now.
Or maybe I'll just project that holoreel on all available flat space, that should do the trick, too.

I'm sorry, Hadari, but as I said, the ceremony is between families and by the time you have access to the party it's over and done with, so no derailing. ;) And Thukker customs have nothing to do with it, anyway.
Also, I would strongly advice against getting Amarr to have anything to do with our wedding festivities. Thank you very much.
