I thought the Hyperion prediction thread was kinda fun, while waiting for Crius issues to be resolved. So, I;m making an Oceanus prediction thread, as we wait for the bugs and issues of Hyperion to be resolved.
Wishful thinking:
Corp/Alliance update, or PoS revamp
Probability:
A few ships being balanced, maybe some new things to the NES, and i'll go with the big moment... some more tweeks to incursions.
Out of this world:
Complete asteroid belt and mining overhaul
Ring mining introduced,
Comet mining
T3 mining subsystem
moon mining become ACTIVE mining (i.e. moon goo now found in ring mining and not in the moons)
Your predictions?

Prediction:
Capital Ship Rebalance - more nerfing than buffing but needed for the game. This could potentially be the centerpiece of the expansion. Will center around carriers and super carriers. It will be needed, but it will be met with massive negative reaction from the vets.
Rorqual Rebalance - it will be a failure by CCP's own set standard of making the Rorq usable in belts. People will not use them in belts, the Rorq will still be able to boost off-grid, and CCP will have made no progress in their plan to eventually get rid of off-grid boosting. However, this 'failure' is only CCP failing to meet its own goal. The changes that go through will be very successful and the ship will be much improved. Useless bonuses to scanners will be replaced with valuable ones, possibly fuel bonuses for example, base stats will be tweaked and be more reasonable, slot availability will be improved, the Rorq's value as a hauler will be improved, and modules valuable to the Rorq will be introduced. So basically CCP themselves will be disappointed but they'll do a great job with the ship. The player base that has always incorrectly labelled the ship as useless will lambast the awesome changes on the forums, and the people who use Rorqs will continue to use them and love them even more.
Minor Subcap Tweaks - along the lines of the minor tweaks of the Hyperion HAC changes. The Ishtar will still be wrong.
Invention Overhaul - If the cap balance is minor, partial, or doesn't happen, this could be the centerpiece of the expansion. It will go over much better than the Crius indy changes because it will result in virtually no nerfing of and expansive buffing of invention so that 10%/20% T2 BPCs can be invented, number of decryptors will increase and invention costs will decrease. The only 'nerf' will be that invention skills will be a larger factor in the process and characters will need to train skills to perfect to be good at invention and players will complain about the years needed for a perfect inventor of everything. (The concept of specialization will be lost on them.) Overall the invention overhaul will not be a complete out of the box rebuild, but this will not be needed. The same system of datacores, decryptors, skills, and base chances will just be modified and expanded so that extremely high chances of success will be possible for extremely high quality BPCs with a fairly low financial cost of invention but an increased skill commitment required. They may introduce multiple base items per invention in order to affect various factors of invention.
Little Things - range from mostly superfluous niceties to one or two very significant bits of awesomeness in keeping with recent tradition.

Sov Changes
Corp/Alliance Changes
The possibly major cap rebalance mentioned above, while likely to be the center of the expansion, is actually the least likely to make it in. It will happen this year and before the sov and corp changes, but may not make it for Oceanus. |

1. The Nestor will be buffed, again, with a new planetary interaction cargo hold, increased tractor beam range, a reduction in the amount of heat damage absorbed by modules and a bonus to structure HP.
2. A mandatory 1m isk CSPA charge will be required for every post in Jita local. If you run out of isk it deducts skill points. If you run out of SP the character is biomassed.
3. High sec data site will be rebalanced so that there is always some reward. Players will now receive at least one piece of carbon. Possibly two.
4. The much-missed tunes "Merchants, Looters and Ghosts" and "Below the Asteroids" will return to a random system, once a day, and play there only once. For one player (if they have music enabled).
5. New transform-on-warp effects will be added to existing ship models. The Dominix will split open like a jacket potato; the Tempest will sprout additional solar panels until it resembles something from a Michael Bey film; the two sticky out bits at the front of the Megathron will join together; the Raven will turn into a cool, sleek, sexy ship with symmetrical swept-back wings and smooth curves. |

How about another 1M CSPA sharge (or the like) for anyone who wants to duel within 1AU of Jita 4-4? 1500 people in local and about 500 of them all wanna duel right in front of the undock. |

Due to a database change, first time logging off of Eve after patching will require you to change your skill queue, or you will lose all training on all your characters for that account. A helpful warning announcing this will be added to the launcher five hours after the servers come back online. Of course, the launcher will be subjected to a DDoS, so everyone will be using the backdoor by then, completely missing it. |

Technically comet mining already exists, not in the way your other post mentioned, but moving blocks of ice in space... hello! Ice belts are not made up of asteroids after all. [Sarcastic moment over.]
On a more serious note, I predict a rebalance of FW again, more nerfs to the Ishtar and a capital mining ship (pretty please?). |

Not sure how the changes have effected HS negativily. So you now can't have your bp's safe while using a pos, which I always thought was a stupid mechanic anyway, and you have the abilty to chose and build where you want, all be it it might cost you more, and your 250me bp got changed, well honestly for 99% of bp's once you hit a certin lvl the rest of yoru research is so small it is was a waste of time. I still don't get this 'attack on hs' idea that people are sprouting. But I guess that's what 10 years of play gets ya.
Hell even the changes to WH's I don't see a huge issue with. Yes the spewing out sucks, but honestly once people figure out the best way to handle that there will be rolling of holes again. Humans and their knee jerk reactions

Hopeful: T3 rebalance. But not holding my breath.
Wish-list: recon rebalance, POS revamp, and new sov system.
