I think it peaked at 8,700 on the final day.
i think once we take into account those using the Chribba servers, we missed 10k by a feather

I peaked at 872 viewers (158+714), so that lands us close to 9,600. Which imo is an amazing number, alose to every 15th player watched EveTV at the finals.
And personally I'd like to thank everyone at EveTV for their uber work, I loved it even though PVP is at the bottom of my interest list. Listening to commentary and general bull was an experience I wouldn't want to miss!
And as spiral said the first day, yeah let's do a Mining Tournament and I'll be in charge
It was great! Thank you very much!

Got to love the eve forums for the spectacularly overserious way some people treat things - critiquing eve tv as if it was some kind of professionally set up, highly funded enterprise that should have somehow provided us with slick BBC1 style presenting and coverage
The whole thing was great, from my view, from start to finish. Great idea, loved the coverage and the between match analysis. Didn't care that it looked a bit amatuerish from time to time and the stream was a little blocky sometimes because, well, I was getting hours of live video for free thanks to the ingenuity, hard work and dedication of other eve players. The people at Eve Radio deserve massive amounts of praise for doing this for us, as do CCP for picking up on it and helping them out.
I thought Spiral did a fine job, I learnt plenty just from paying attention to ifni's analysis, enjoyed seeing all the 'guests' on the couch. But most of all had a great laugh at one of my work colleagues watching a half hour of Eve TV and deciding, on the back of that, that he wanted to start playing Eve just so he can get a good enough ship to hunt down and kill Stavros.
Great job everyone involved, and am looking forward to whatever comes next.

the only real gripe i had with it, was just the repeating of some of the pre-records as time fillers. because people didnt turn up, i realise who's fault this is.
even in the next tournament, there will still be a handful of games that people wont turn up to, even if there is a deposit or stricter penalty for it, some people still wont be able to make friday nights, or due to some timezones etc. i propose ccp stock-up a little backup material for such events, and you dont even have to make the material yourself.
basically, i say just have a video-making competition/event sort of thing. have everyone make thier videos, the top 10 or 15 get a little something for thier effots and these videos get put into the selection box, and should the event occur where space needs to be filled, you have a selection box full of videos made with EVE TV in mind to play at your whim.

I can confirm that there are plans to hold a tournament every six months. As for EveTV, an announcement will be made soonish.

Definently. Lemonde mentioned something about trying to have a tournament every six months btw... so i hope you guys are broadcasting the next one as well. Without EveTV, I wouldnt even cared about the tournament at all. But EveTV made it really enjoyable to watch, not to mention a great learning experience seeing all those ships in action. All of us arent 3 year old fleet snipers who have seen it all.

If it wasn't for EVE TV I wouldn't have known what the hell was going on in the tourney and I wouldn't have cared about any of the matches apart from the Ushra'Khan ones (we will win the next tourney btw ).
I thought Ifni, SpiralJunkie and Stav were all great and they, along with DJs Xod and Xman, made it really watchable. Please don't ever invite MastaKiller back on the show though.

it wasnt a dig, its just true. you simply dont have the voice or the charisma to pull it off. neither do i, neither do 99% of the eve community. just the way it is.

Interesting opinion, personally I think my only real problem there was a certain lack of aggression in taking part in the discussions, first time on the air and didn't quite realize one shouldn't just wait for the host. Since Spiraljunkie pretty much didn't direct any questions to me other than "so how do you think you'll do in the tournament" i ended up mostly not saying anything while Ifni and Stavros babbled on, and coming across as extremely arrogant for talking about my team so much ;P

fair enough, maybe you didnt get asked many questions, but the ones you did answer you showed none of the charisma youd expect from someone on TV, granted its an amateur production but thats what the world expects nowadays. ill try to explain the best i can.
Ifni gets asked a question, say "what do you think of that last match?" he could say either "it was crap" or "it was awesome", it doesnt matter, its the WAY hes says it. he lifts his head up, he uses his hands to emote the things hes saying, he speaks in a loud, but calm voice, and in a "happy" manner.
you, on the other hand, sit absolutley still, moving less than a nun in a brothel, speaking quietly, almost mumbling in a moody barrotone voice. for the best example, go watch the pre-recording of the interview where both you and raem were speaking, and compare the way you talk with the way raem talks.

pfft Tyrrax was great, I could happily have watched him on evetv everyday! And unlike some others, what he did say was right and made sense, instead of just babbling on about nonsense Sig dimensions must be no more than 400W x 120H - Cathath ([email protected]) |
