Personally, since I thik it's ugly as sin I'm not even sure i can bring myself to fly one. This being said however, I can see what the EvE crew are tryin to do.
If they made it better than the Dom & Mega, then no one would use them. They HAVE to build it with flaws & it's up to us to find the fittings that'll make it work.
I find I can get a recharge time of about 304 seconds in a mega & that tends to run my DC, tracking comp, ab & repper just long enough to get into nos range.
Works ok for me.
They made *ME* a General?

its a megathon with a big ass capasitor so you can MWD and still fight and tank so whats your problem with that.
well no way of knowing for sure until(or even if) we see them on sisi, but it seems the hype is a better rail boat than the mega with 8 turrets and tracking not being as important at long range(sb in the extra mid might give you enough lock range to make it a decent set up)
on the info we have i would also say mega is a better blaster boat with a tracking bonus (that was only just boosted as blasters were gimped ) and bigger drone bay, you can say that the hype does more dps with its 8 turrets but a mega with decent drone skills cant be that far behind plus has 1 slot free for a nos.
that brings us to the mwd bonus and while sounding nice at first, the dev blog has already stated that its going to have the same cap recharge as the other bs meaning you will STILL need to cap inject it just to keep your guns running never mind your tank which kind of makes it kind of pointless
many ppl have suggested using webby drones on this ship i would just like to ask them how they plan on defending vs even a single crow with only webby drones and bs guns
have to say im not to impressed with any but the cal bs not for any of the stats as such(but dont understand how cal get a 10% range AND a resists bonus) just that cal get the only really new bs for the race the other 3 have goten a sort of rehash of other ships, would have been much better for them to remove the -cap penalty for fitting mwd on all ship classes so the mega could be a proper BB and give the gall a ew platform/amar a droneship type of thing

Why don't you think before you post. Think about my brilliant analysis of the game mechanics and my increadible understanding of the real issues. It's a young character, not a young/inexperienced player. For the record w/ only around 3.4m SP I'm flying a Blasterthron on this character and doing quite well given the fact that I have ridiculously low skillpoints on it.
It's very tightly focused, and it's very effecient skillpoint wise. Why? Because I know what the F*CK I'm doing that's why.
Because I said so...

I had a random crazy thought: What if the Hype's MWD bonus was changed to "5% reduced powergrid need on large hybrids per level"? Would things break? |
