I have one of each of these i currently am working on maxing out the skills to use the T2 guns Currently tried lvl 3 mordus mission with the wolf the scrambling intys i couldnt take down b4 i had no armors left.
Wolf Setup: High: 4 200mm Scouts loaded EMP S (normally or proton S if i need a bit more range) 1 Arbal. rocket
med: 1 1MN ABII 1 Cap charger II
Low: 1 armor rep II 1 200mm reinforced rolled tungesten plates I 1 Type-N reactive membraine I 1 Type-N magenitic membrane I
setup kicked ass in L2 missions L3's i cant get into range on the scramblers due to speed shortage and no MWD isnt the answer useless in complexes.
Jag is just sitting in a hanger stripped no current setup atm.
open to suggestions to firgate and small ship lovers as to how to get into lvl 3's with one of these AF's

Remove Cap recharge 2 and put a web instead. No idea if it fits though :( (to deal with ceptors)
Also, mordus do kinetic and thermal damage, so remove your reactive membrane and use a thermal one , or a second kinetic or even an adaptive.
Thats about it

Hey I use a Jaguar in lvl3's its tons of fun and it tanks like a serious champ, yesterday I did the new Mordus Headhunters which is pretty insane, and Massive attack. It was no problem using the right tactics. However it does have some serious issues with webbing frigates as they stay out of AC range. The only solution I have found is to refit with Artillery.
HIGH: 3*200MM AC II, 1*Arb Rocket MED: 1*AB, II 1*Shld Ext, 2*Hard passive LOW: 2*Shld rech, 1*Gyro stab II
I dont remember I dont recall I dont have memory of anything at all! |

Edited by: travelingsales on 27/07/2006 07:48:16 If you are fighting anything other than Amarr type NPC's I would lean toward the Jaguar as it has much better natural resists for fighting against Angel/Gistii and Mordus type enemies. I have been soloing L3's in a Jag the last few days, and as was mentioned above your only real problem will be with webbing frigates. You can either fit artillery and take all of them out first and then come back with autocannons for the BC's, or try to use a webber/ab combo to get within range on them and open up with the AC. Once you get T2 guns you could also try shooting Barrage S which gives a falloff bonus, but in my opinion using T2 ammo on NPC's is like lighting a pile of money on fire - kind of fun at first but ultimately a giant waste.
The setup posted above is fine, here's another similar one (a bit easier to fit I think, and partially active tanked):
High: 3x 150mm AC (Scout/Prototype or T2), 1x Rocket Launcher Mids: Cold-Gas AB, Medium Extender (T2 if possible otherwise best named), Small shield boost T2, Passive Hardner Lows: Gyro II, PDU's and/or Shield Relays
Good luck!

Edited by: Arian Snow on 27/07/2006 09:33:20 The jaguar is a really nice little ship and its easy to get to work. There is another fitting i've played a bit with using active hardeners: 3*150MM II, 1*Nos 1*shield ext, 2*active hard II, 1*AB II 1*Gyro II, 2 Shield relay. EDIT: you may have to use tech1 things to make it fit! and damage can be a problem. The Jaguar is very a versatile, and using guerilla tactics its almost invincible in pve. I just love my Jag!

Get some faction membranes they can be really cheap. Shadow serpentis membranes are only in-line with t2 and nanos aside they sell for under 2 mil. Lose the plate, the wolf comes pre-plated, fit a gyro II instead. I find I can fit a gyro II and then one faction and one n-type membrane if I fit 150mm II's. If you are fitting 200mm 'scouts' you might have enough spare CPU to fit 2 faction membranes.
150mm's are a good idea here because the wolf gets no bonus to tracking.
Fit a NOS, the small NOS still NOSes for about a third as much cap/sec as a heavy NOS which is a whole lot of extra cap energy for a frig sized capacitor. In addition it makes killing bigger ships easier because it increases the cycle time of each rep, weakening the NPCs tank.

So sorry for not thanking you all sooner this work week for me has been hell.
I did as first suggested and replaces the recharger with the webber "langor" as well for mordus i added anouther kenetic hardner. worked wonders.
I have since ran about 8 - 10 kill missions for the agent and havent changed much besides hardners for the diffrent NPC types. its been working great havent had to warp out yet of any missions long as i pull the support/intys that web first away from the rest and then go in for the kills.
All the Jag suggestions i whole hartedly plan on testing out so far all the jag has been is a really nice ship sitting in my hanger to look at :)
Also i guess i should have posted my skills so you all wouldnt have to totaly guess at what state of training im in you can view them at:SKILLS
Again I thank you all for all the great Suggestions as well as the great tips for combat.
