just FYI I'm a very highly rated Magic: the Gathering player so this CCG immediately caught my eye :-)

1. Basically, there is two precompiled desk in core set, means that about 52-54 cards in market for each of two players, right ?
2. there is additional boosters packs, cards from which you can add to your set. (right?)
Hence the questions: a. Each player should have same number of cards in market on the start of the game ? b. If i become a real CCG geek and will sell my car and notebook in order to acquire enough booster packs, so in the end I will have my market set 100% consist of premium and rare cards - will it make me a BIG PAPA and OMGWTFPWNing guru of CCG ? c. %) How to find smbody to play with exept my wife ? (99% kidding)

This game is much like MTG, allthough the main diffrences i can see are the teritory bit and the tabs on the card for how long effects stay in play or how long before cards can attack

This game is nothing like magic, except for the fact it's a CCG.
Originally by: Lord Violent EvE is slowly becoming a game for the stupid being catered to by devs, as they lack ability to kill/survive anything.

Basic Idea of the game (if you haven't had the chance to read the linked Rulebook) is that the players are rival station holders, trying to survive/ make isk ect.
As to the Magic comments, when I read " the 'pile' " I though the stack? from Magic, but the other similarities can be found in many different card games. Four of, and seven hand size. These are the Magic numbers. Other notable numbers include L5R and battletech having a five card hand, Yu-Gi-Oh having a three of limit along with DBZ. The Isk system, gaining money each turn you have to get things with, reminds me of the energy system from Magi-Nation in money form, this aspect is deinitely not magic. Locations, I've played two CCG's with locations and both no longer exist. Middle-Earth (the original LotR CCG) and Star Wars (by Dechiper.) the location idea is also present in both Battletech and L5R as you can chose to attack certain areas. Magic and Eve end when your deck is empty, several games don't. They either recycle dead cards or just go on without a deck. I like the combat system as I find it a good mix. Some games just let you attack the opponent and then leave you to the dastardly wiles of your foul foe, and some let you pick each individual attack. The Eve combat lets you pick the place and who there you aim at, setting up a good balance. In time as more card games get formed they start to look familiar as they combine the good aspects of different card games while adding their own personnal flair.
