I've checked out all the cruisers & destroyers, but they're all slow.
Thorax requires to be 'up close' which just leaves a huge opening, right? Vexor doesn't have enough medium slots and is slow.
Is there anything that can do what a frigate can, just better? :[ |

thorax gets bonusses (or less penalties) in using a micro warp drive. This helps it speed pretty good. Also if I'm not mistaken a stabber is pretty fast. But of course all depends on the setup.

Yep.
Interceptors are faster, smaller versions of frigates.
Assault frigates are tougher versions of frigates.
Both do what a frigate can, only better. However, they're also a lot more expensive and have higher skill requirements.

Frigates branch out into two "combat," versions.
Interceptors - Even more agile and faster then frigates. They're a bit fragile but a good pilot can work wonders with them.
Assault Frigates - A bit less agile then a regular T1 interceptor, but can do plenty of damage (although some interceptors do better damage) and has plenty of buffer (shield/armor), impressive slot layouts, and resists.
If you're PVPing you can choose between the two pretty evenly. If you're NPCing then Assault Frigates are your best option.
You'll find both ships about equally expensive considering most interceptors like to fit MWD IIs =)

The answer.
According to the database, it's faster than the Merlin(caldari frigate).

With my 1.2 million skill points, I can get a regular mission running Stabber moving at about 1000 m/s with no T2 gear and only named items using AB, not MWD. It MOVES well. :)
Little tight on the cargo hold with the setup though and I have yet to test out a true PVP setup, but from my limited experience, even when I had just a basic 10MN AB in it, it was doing 700+ m/s in orbit around BS / BC NPC targets, which pretty much makes you invisible to their turrets. Their missiles, however, hurt alot :)

I HATE fighting NPC stabbers in my mission. I just physically can't keep up in my Duramaller, and never will. ----------------- Information overload. |
