Is it viable to use this ship for solo belt piracy? Can it, well... y'know... do and dmg at all?
Highs 3 X Heavy Launcher II 1 X Medium NOS
Meds 4 x Multispec II 1 X 20km 1 X Webber
Lows 2 X CPR / Nanofiber / BCU / Cheesecake / Whatever
Viable??

That would do the job against other cruisers and frigs. Wouldn't be the quickest fight and as long as you kept them jammed and your cap held you'd be ok.

Either change one of the heavy launchers to another nos, or change one of the multispecs to a cap injector and you've got a winnar! ---------------------------

Edited by: CJ70 on 27/07/2006 12:35:25 Funny you should mention this I took a blackbird out for a spin cause I was bored a few minutesa ago.
3 Heavy Launchers 1 Medium Nos / 2 Multi spec ecm 1 10 MN afterburner 1 20km scram 1 webber 1 small shield booster (I was planning on ratting) / 1 BCU 1 PDU
Got attacked by an Amarr crusader interceptor, web jam scramble - easy kill
For piracy i'd swap out the shield booster and possily the afterburner too for some cap injector or more ecm, I *almost* ran out of cap.

I wouldn't recommend another nos on that bird. The DPS is already scarily low with only three launchers, dropping 33% of that might just tip it over the edge.

How about Assault Launchers instead of Heavies? Would probably bring down the dps against cruisers, but increase it against intys/AFs at the same time...

blackbird is jsut a terrible ship for solo'ing to be honest. caracal i much better. the dps is laughable to most ships and also if u do use it u'll want to pack an afterburner at least, otherwise if they have u webbed they can just burn out of scram range in the half an huor it takes to kill them. the blackbird is primarily a support ecm ship and in my opinion only, it should only be used that way. but i learnt that by trying it so give it a whirl

You need as dps against cruisers really, even with heavies if you web/scram/jam you should beat a inty.

altough BB is support ship, if used for soloing, pilot wont pick up fight against multiple targets, against one or two, there is always a jamming, so beeing webed it nost likely possible.
If u cannot jamm, dont fight, thats the point of BB..
