ok so I just recently started playing Eve again after a 3 month break, and when I came back I found that the cerebus that I bought for 70 million isk is now being sold for over 230 million. So of course I plot to sell it and make my profit. When I came into trade channel Moleh, a well known pirate, offered me 230 mil and asked me to meet him where he was cause he couldnt come into empire space because of his negative rating. Now im normally not very picky about who I sell to because business is business, but I informed him that I was aware of the risk in dealing with him yada yada yada, if I feel like im being set up the deal is off. Well he did a very good job setting me up because I dont normally fall for such things (ps next time Ill just travel one more system in and ask him to meet me one jump over after ive docked but anyway), I warp into the station and am immediatly locked down and webbed. They have so many jamming devices on me that my max velocity was 1m/s and I couldnt warp with 5 WCS on lol. He contacts me and informs me that I could either pay him 140m or eject from my ship and warp off and he will pay me 80m (yeah right lol). Anyway, during the course of this conversation Im stalling and making sure that even at 1m/s im alligned in my warp path and still mantaining my warp drive active, and sure enough as I had hoped one of his goonies must have ran out of cap cause I sored right out. Lol I swear, the following eve mail asking me how I got away with 8 warp jamming strength on was just priceless. Oh and not to mention the quote I gave him from the Matrix "How about instead I just give you the finger" lol was soo good.

Some pirates are just too dumb. He wasn't going to fight, he was going to SELL his ship. Why would he want to put a bunch of tech 2 equipment on a ship he was planning to get rid of and not fight with? Yeah, sure, he could have dropped it in a station, but he still would have had to transport all that equipment out of the system later. For the purpose of his little venture into low space, he was very smart to carry all WCS... afterall, he did escape with his life and ship.

going into a lowsec system with a hac to sell it to a pirate was utterly stupid.
most have alts who can get that stuff or Courier missions ftw. I hope you learned why this was a bad thing to do. You can leave it in a highsec system 1 jump from the low sec or sell it to someone else.
cerberus is a high demand ship. I'm also pretty sure you can get more then 230 mil for it tho i admit i could be wrong.

If he'd achieved anything, he'd be being congratulated. If he he'd demonstrated any form of intelligence of skill whatsoever, that would be being applauded. If he'd got out through anything but pure luck, he'd could say he'd won.
As it is, he acted like an idiot (Sell my cerb in low sec to a known pirate who operates there? Sure! Ship it to him on request through his camp? No!) and deserved to lose the ship.

lol well thanks for all the feedback, both positive and negative it was good reading, and the only reason I was willing to sell to him is because we were in Stain together a few years back, but that just shows the business side of some pirates. You know guys it is possible to be a pirate and still have a good business sense. Believe me Ive done it quite well lol. Though I must say it was a good scam. I dont call it being stupid either. I was just making a profit as far as I was concered. If I had lost it I wouldnt have been to bothered by it lol. I was just revelling by the fact that I got away. You see theres a difference between losing a ship that you dont care about and losing it to a cheap pirate. I dont fault the pirating life. I fault the pirate who cant be honest in business. So whether you think I was being stupid or not...I STILL GOT AWAY!!! lol

Any day above ground is a good day! Yea, he did make a mistake and yea he did get lucky. But it's not so much his good luck that we are applauding, it Moleh's bad luck
Now whoever ran out of cap and let this guy get away should be clapped in irons or made to walk the plank or fed to the sharks, jeeze, what do you pirates do to all the dumb ****s that screw up like this?
