People play the game how they wish. That is the freedom you have in this game. You can be a miner, a manufacturer, a trader, a pirate, a bounty hunter or whatever.
Being a bounty hunter means you can take a security hit and be attacked by CONCORD if you try to collect a bounty on somebody within 1.0-0.5 empire space. So, CONCORD and the Empires would view you as a pirate for killing a pirate? I'm sure there's some good to people hunting player pirates but not sure right off hand what it would be.
Being a pirate is obviously a lucrative occupation since I see I lot of people complaining about being victimized by them.
So, as long as you are penalized for going after pirates, you can expect them to do whatever they want to do for a long time and there's nothing you can do about it.
I neither condone or condemn piracy, this is just the way it is right now.

Its a game for christs sake. If you don't want to be killed stay in Empire space above 0.4.
Player killing is part and parcel of this game. Most of the players in this game have a good life. Some of the pirate corps and allinances are better organised than most Blue Chip companies.
If you don't like. Go play the Simms and get a life.

Tho I did pretend to be mad. Can't let the PKer have ALL the fun. Actually, when it happened, I was in the middle of a fairly polite conversation with the guy in local. He was wasted and forgot who he was talking to. He ended up giving me 600k, and offered to give me a cruiser a few days later. Didn't take the cruiser, tho. An empty KOS list is boring. :)
Tell ppl in the bounty channel where they are and what they are flying. Offer isk for a hit. Get some friends together and try attacking the pirate. Find some way to exact revenge if you are so angry.
This is a PvP game. It allows the career of pirate, who obviously must attack other players.
PvP is for the most part consensual. You may not have consented to the fight, but you must have consented to enter space where Concord would not protect you. If you didn't protect yourself, these are the consequences.
If you can't protect yourself, and don't want to pay the consequences, stay out of low-sec space.
Your 150mm Railgun II perfectly strikes Serpentis Drug Baron, wrecking for 192.8 damage. |
