I recently reinstalled my Windows XP, so I had to reinstall the Eve Client as well... unfortunatley the client won't start now. 
I get the program window down in the active programs bar, but no client appears. Anyone had similiar problems? Any tips are welcome.

Did you do a full, clean install of windows? That is, was windows installed on a freshly formatted partition. Or did you reinstall windows on top of the old installation? If the later, there may be some registry problems or other things going on. If it was fresh, then sorry, I don't know.

I reinstalled atop of the old installation, not sure if the disk was formatted... bummer. I'll give it another try; unless you can give me a tip on how to fix the registery? (Im clueless to how the windows registery works though.)

Sorry, I try to stay as far away from windows as I can. Only suggestion I can give is to do a fresh install. Reformat the hard drive partition you want to use and install on that. Don't forget to copy all of your data on it to another drive or CD or something. When you reformat the partition you'll lose everything on it.
Alternative would be to use a second drive if you have one.

yes, ive gone through pages of the forum history with someone with the same problem i have but at least i know im not the only one.
I too have resently done full 're-boot' of my computer. Downloaded the latest client of eve of the website, tried to start it up and i get the 'eve picture' come up, u know the one that appeares right before the login screen appears but the log in bit just doesnt come:
all that happans in the pictures disapears and the eve online tab at the bottom of the screen just stays there and theres no way to open it.
An quick responce is welcome, missing Eve :'(
