TL;DR create sub divisions in the skill queue (similar to the market) to make sifting through skills easier and manageable.
theres one problem with getting more and more skills. searching for skills to train up, to see what it does, what it affects, etc, becomes harder and harder. yes, there is the search bar and filters, but what happens if you dont know what a particlar skill's name is?
there should be sub divisions (like in the market, ex: cruisers -> amarr) to make sifting through skills a bit easier. it doesnt have to apply to all the tabs, but for tabs like SPC, or gunnery, or resource production, there are just so many skills you have to scroll through in order to find what you want.

eh, i dont trust 3rd party software. never have, doubt i ever will. and having to open evemon just to browse skills while you have eve open in the first place seems sorta redundant and useless

Drag the window bigger, more then 3 lines
Didn't have that problem training 32 skills in one night ... on the first day.
More tabs and drop downs is not what we need ... we need more attentive, interested and intelligent players.

EVEMon is a worthy and trusted part of any capsuleer's must-have out-of-EVE accessory package - that and some sort of fitting tool.
Don't expect CCP to spend developer time on something that has already been very well-covered by community developers. |

Don't expect CCP to spend developer time on something that has already been very well-covered by community developers. Basic functionality should never be excluded just because someone made a third party tool to cover missing functionality. Extended functionality like 'what is my perfect remap for this 1 year plan' is a different story.
Op is asking for Gunnery to have sub categories like 'Support skills, Hybrid Turrets, Laser Turrets, Projectile Turrets' if I read them right. And Ship Command would probably be the other one that it really applies to. I see no reason this would not improve the game. |

Third-Party tool discussion aside, I wouldn't mind having more tabs in my skill queue.

Sorry, I am really not getting it .. I actually use the skill tab to browse everything, its more efficient then almost any other tool. And as a side effect, actually teaches you what skills do and which level you have trained ... It is very simple and excellent and that because of it. Drop downs in drop downs is the worst rubbish you can get, as are branched drop downs.
The info window is already screwed up with this new design comfort, leave the skill cue out of it. Data where data belongs, plain and simple.
As for simplification, I would rather lose the always shown Skill points/counter for a tighter view and maybe move it to a mouse-over tool-tip. Basicallly...
CCP's movement in this area was the recent reorganization of skills. I was shocked we got this as the old listings were not exactly quantum physics level hard to kep track of. But enough said its not intuitive enough for them and ccp fixed that.
Long story short they already made skill lists brain dead friendly....not seeing them drop even lower as that would be mouth dribbling lobotomy done bad level really. |
