master bates Amarr	Posted - 2006.07.30 12:31:00 - [1] hey guys, i am a bit stuck for what to train for lvl4 missions, i am ready to begin training for the amarr heavey assault ships, which will take about a month for amarr cruiser to lvl5 + a couple of weeks for another lvl5 skill, then onto the actual hac skill. Or i could train caldari ships completely from scratch to get the raven, this i believe will also take about a month, plus time for shield skill training. what do you guys think ? do i train the hac skills or raven skills to run lvl4 combat missions in ? ----------------------------------------------- winmau industries now recruiting ,looking for combat pilots/miners, convo me or evemail me ingame for details
Baldour Ngarr Artemis Rising	Posted - 2006.07.30 14:20:00 - [2] An Amarr hac, or battleship, well fitted can run level 4's. It won't be quite as quick as a Raven and good missile skills - nothing is. If your armor tanking and capacitor skills are maxed out, you shouldn't have too many problems. Gamesguy	Posted - 2006.07.30 22:01:00 - [3] You will have huge, huge problems against the scrambling inties on missions where drones insta-agro everything. I have interfacing 4, even 5x rat specific drones take forever to kill one of these inties, double webbed.

Draugz	Posted - 2006.07.30 23:51:00 - [7] Ops, allready started the process of getting a Raven and im a Gallente Ishkur pilot. Purely for financial reasons, all my pvp stays loyal to Gallente ships. Raven is just worth the detour in the long run. in 2 weeks im gonna have it up and running with some decent skills. As for topic author, does it take a month to get Amarr Cruiser 5?

As for topic author, does it take a month to get Amarr Cruiser 5? takes me a month 30 days 22 hours 31 minutes or something like, plus then i gotta train spaceship command from 4 to 5 which is 6 days, then weapon upgrades from 4 to 5 after that it would be a case of maxing out skills, however i have heard great things about ravens , i already have 500k lp in missiles, can use cruises/torps so all i really would need is to get a shield tank trained up so with training caldari ships from scratch+ then training shields its probably gonna take the same amount of time as the amarr hac which is one of the reasons i am unsure which way to go. ----------------------------------------------- winmau industries now recruiting ,looking for combat pilots/miners, convo me or evemail me ingame for details

Whichever direction you go you might think about 0.0 npcing first to earn some cash and let your skills fill in. Its true the current npc king is the Raven however the apoc isn't half bad either. You will have to be careful with drone aggro though or try and take out the frigates at long range. In the end though just train for what you like. If you really like amarrian ships train those. If your more of a missile guy go for the Raven. I used a megathron for a long time (though the mega is not the ideal npc ship) before I switched my spec back into Caldari ships.

You might want to hold off on level 4 missions and HACs and instead train some learning skills because cruiser 5 should only take ~20 days. For missions though, go with the Raven. The ability to choose any damage type and not have to worry about range lets you do missions while reading the forums (like I am right now)
master bates Amarr	Posted - 2006.07.31 12:46:00 - [11] i have analytical mind at 5 empathy at 4 instant recall at 5 iron will at 4 learning at 5 spatial awareness at 4 my perception is at 12 and my willpower is at 23 which are the attributes used in ship training i could spend a week training the spatial awareness to 5 but i doubt that will take ten days off training amarr cruiser to 5 so itd make more sense to train the cruiser skill as a note tho (this isnt trying to sound rude) i have been playing for about 10 months so a lot of my skills are at 4's and 5's You currently have 111 skills and 6,597,724 skill points as well and i have ran level 4's before in an apoc until i lost it to a bad setup on my part. i appreciate the advice and it looks like i will go for the raven, also training caldari ships opens up new horizons for me and allows me to mix up what i am flying a bit more ----------------------------------------------- winmau industries now recruiting ,looking for combat pilots/miners, convo me or evemail me ingame for details

If you have Caldari Cruiser trained, which you would have for Raven, train for the Cerberus. The Cerberus can handle all but 1 of the level 4 missions and I prefer this over my Raven anyday (I do the Caldari missions hence Guristas are my enemy most of the time, and the Cerberus has ridiculous tanking abilities against Kin/Therm.)
