The Amarr Empire is often thought of as a monolithic entity, where fun is not allowed to occur, policed by religious authorities keen to crack down on any kind of enjoyment.
Gutter Press investigators and correspondents have revealed that fun does indeed occur in Amarr space, although it is hidden.
A discussion in the capsuleer channel "The Summit", regarding a recent fashion relief effort to send stylish Luminaire clothing to the needy people in Pator, provoked several comments from Amarr pilots, including one from a famous Crusade pilot who said that Gallente synth-feather lingerie was "very comfortable", but then denied owning any.
Meanwhile, during a recent action against the infamous terrorist Nauplius, several Stormcrows militia pilots reported seeing an unidentified imperial Admiral personally rescuing exotic dancers from one of the wrecks. Presumably to serve in the notorious secret dance clubs of the Empire, where ladies dance with their modesty covered only by passages from scripture.
We asked some people for their opinions:
"Before the militia wars, Amarr was one of our biggest markets for exotic nightwear", said one manufacturer. "Roden should make peace with them, so we can get back to business"
"I thought Amarrians were allergic to fun", said one Gallente exotic dancer in Caille.
"Gallente know nothing about subtlety", said an Amarr exotic dancer in Dam-Torsad. "Time and a place for everything"
"Gallente exotic clothing is mostly bought by theatrical companies", said a Ni-Kunni shopkeeper.
Are the Federation and Empire more similar than most people realise ? Can Roden impose a peace settlement on the Empire ?
Gutter Press will search for answers to these, important, questions. Rumours, Wars, Rumours of Wars, Wars of Rumours! |

It is true that I occasionally recover exotic dancers from the wrecks of other Empyreans or from Pleasure Hubs operated by Sansha's Nation. While I cannot change the legal status of such individuals, rest assured that I inflict upon them such brutality as befits the lowest Minmatar slave; the horrors that I inflict upon these vile dancers pushes the limits of human comprehension.
I have no doubt, however, that upon their rescue, these dancers are conscripted into the select harem reserved for high-ranking PIE officers, where PIE Admirals take their turns with them before and after congratulating themselves on their selfless service to the Empire.

The registered 'exotic dancer' rescued from the sacraficial Bestower was (and still is) in no condition to dance for anyone. The salve butcher and his cult saw it befitting to remove a few necessary bits from her. She has been given full medical treatment but the mind is more difficult to heal than the body.
Now, if you all are done making light of the torment she endured, we'll just get back to righting the wrongs of the cluster without your childish snickering following us. |

Is this where I am to point out out that by the time each passage is removed, all men in the room become Believers?
Or perhaps not?
"I say that even as the holy and the righteous cannot rise beyond the highest which is in each one of you - so the wicked and the weak cannot fall lower than the lowest which is in you also. -áAnd as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of the whole tree, so the wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will of you all." |

Amarrians don't know how to have fun. That Gallentean dancer must have been out of his/her mind, or shooting her/himself up with the good stuff. Maybe I should visit Caille again...
As I've said before, all Amarrians do is read a book and stand around chanting all day. Who would want to do that, all day? That's no fun. |

As much as I'd like to make a sarcastic remark here, I must agree with Pilot Shutaq. We shouldn't make light of the torment visited upon Nauplius' victims. I hope that one day they may be healed so that they can have some semblance of a normal life. When the world is running down, you make the best of what's still around. |

Ms. Raker, this "channel" is a private club and can't reflect all capsuleer viewpoints. I have visited it a couple of times and was banned without any reason, offensive behavior and explanation. If you wish to create more quality material and talk to capsuleers, you should visit instead NeoCom channel "Intergalactic Summit", which is run by CRC of CONCORD.

*** VIDEO TRANSMISSION BEGINS ***
Mitara sits at a desk looking into the camera, she doesn't look particularly happy. Not much detail can be made of the room other than an abundance of sunlight streaming through many large windows, though it sounds there is a man giggling off camera.
"Forthestate." Mitara says quickly and reaches for the video controls.
The giggling continues, "Hey! Slow that down now!"
Mitara grinds her jaw back and forth a few times and spits out curtly "For. The. State." Her eyes dart to the source of the increased chuckling and her expression asks 'Satisfied?'
Mitara stabs at the video controls

At least the Amarr have the sensibility to conceal their debauchery while the Federation impolitely leaves their's in full view. Not every Amarr participates, let alone endorses, debauchery. There is more to life than meaningless pursuits.
As far as we are concerned, as a culture, private matters are to be kept private, where they belong. In the public eye, they become worthless. Your private business is none of our concern.
Privacy is the only thing someone can truly cherish as their own and only theirs inherently.
When you lose your privacy, you lose your right to be you. And when you voluntarily lose your privacy, you show indication of a lack of intelligence or regard for your own humanity.
This is why the Amarr are so offended by scandals. Fide et honore.

Anything sensitive, personal and you rather be keeping to yourself and to a select circle is private. For example your terrible poetry, your mother's embarrassing moments and your personal mausoleum of skeletons. |

Right. The other person seems to be arguing that Amarr society is somehow superior because they don't agree with this idea that what should be private is up to whoever's privacy we are talking about, but that they as a culture somehow keep more things private than everyone else. So their hidden pleasures are somehow better than our public ones merely because they try to hide them. This makes no sense to me. -á |
