Lo,
I run lvl 4 missions and like most ppl (well I would assume most ppl) I do my killing then head back to base for my indi with 5 overdrives and a 10mnw afterburner fitted.
No while zooming across the void of space between one can and another I have notice you can actually outrun a can you are tractoring behind you.
Is that how it's supposed to work?
I would have thought that once snagged no matter how fast your going the tractor beam would keep pulling it in.
Not a complaint at all just wondered if thats how it was intended.

Tractor beams pull cans at 500m/s. If You go faster they fall behind.

Well the tractor beams can only pull how much every cycle? 1-2k (cant be assed checking the numbers). Makes sence if you go above that distance then the cans going too drift away.

dammit stupid freaking forum ****ty broken logging... just wrote a whole essay and now it's voided. Well in short what I said was yes, they behave correctly if you don't see them as a fishing rod where you reel in a fish, they are energy beams.

I would fit Nanofibres instead of Overdrives since Overdrives take away from your cargohold and Nanofibres make you more agile.

You pull something towards you at 500m/s, and fly away from it at 750m/s, it's not going to get any closer is it?

Ah, I thought it was all relative when I heard about them.
Hope CCP comes out with a medium and large tractor beam soon.

Yes it should be relative.
If your going 2000m per sec and you have a can snagged it should come to you +500 should it not?
Like I said minor gripe...just bugged me a lil thats all :)
