We know that customer support is good in eve. And i don't know the Coh/Cov custommer support so i could not judge
Maybe they test and the test was when the petition queues is too big

Relax, it is their first annual awards, don't expect them to get it right the first time. ___________________

Agreed, and that is a big plus for EVE. Lotta people drawn to the game because of its extensive economy. And I would expect the economic aspects of EVE to continue to grow as additional corporation management controls, financial reporting, a stronger contract system and a stock trading system (other than current player-based efforts) are added.

Uhh... Most Polygons, maybe. But WoW looks better, and WoW is years older. Art Direction > Fancy Shaders.
Er... and Oblivion winning for the plot line? Okay. These awards are a bit wacky. Eve _does_ have the best economy hands down, but it seems they just chose the most recent game to come out for the most part and awarded it. Here's hoping they're a little more discerning in the future. |

I've never heard of that website, and the more people look at those utterly mornic 'awards', the more views that no-name site gets.
Oblivion's story is pretty cool though.

Sorry, CoH / CoV has a storyline >> Good guy meets Bad guy in city... have a fight, good guy wins, bad guy runs... The End.

Even Ragnarok Online had / has a better storyline than that.

In CoH/CoV the whole good guy/bad guy really is integrated into every mission, all the sceneries and (before they unlocked it to it's counterpart) the costumes people can use.
It's the most defined good/bad MMO out there, ofcourse the gameplay isn't radically different but the setting and mood is nicely done.

Edited by: Jasahl Toruken on 03/08/2006 18:34:15 The WoR Awards were all voted by the people that went to the website to vote. More CoH/V fans came so, more awards to them.
I play both CoH/V and Eve. CoH/V has multiple storylines throughout the game as you advance your character. It takes about an hour for an in game GM to answer a petition, if you're still online. A bit slow for my tastes because I usually move on to next mission, there have been times when the wait was only about 5-15mins, but that was before CoV.
The only complaint I have about Eve is not being able to train a skill on a 2nd character within the same account. I know your first suggestion is to cancel the CoH/V account and open a 2nd Eve account, but I like to change the scenery from time to time. I'd rather just pay an extra $5 a month on my Eve account to unlock the ability to train at least a 2nd character. But that's off the subject :)
WoR Radio was created by DJs that left MMO Radio after it went corporate. It's a great station that plays mostly Rock with the occasional specialty show that plays Electronic/Techno. The creators of the station are or have been terestrial station DJs and they follow the rules to keep the station PG-13, sometimes the DJs get really close to the line, but its all in good fun.
Check it out. www.wor-radio.com irc.wor-radio.com

Wait, Ragnarok Online had a storyline?
When did that happen?
After the long and gruesome war between God, Humans, and Demons... Scarred during the dangerous moments in battle, and avoiding total destruction altogether, the Humans, God and Demons entered a long truce
The 1000 years of fragile and forged peace...
In the land of Midgard, the existence of peace eventually led the humans to erase their memories of the scars and hardships of the wars in the past. Not remembering the faults of the past, culture was spreading throughout the land along with selfishness, corruption, and arrogance.
Then one day, strange occurrences started happening, breaking the balance that once existed in Midgard. There came a strange howl from the boundaries that divided the humans, God, and demons; creatures began attacking; increasing earthquakes and hail - and... The mysterious legend of demons... As the fragile peace began to fall apart, stories about the parts of Ymir, protecting the peace, began to spread among the adventurers. Forgetting the true nature of it, people set out to seek each of the pieces for their own selfishness, and the wealth that would come with it...
Better than CoH / CoV imho :P
And before the flamers / trolls start - Yes I have a CoH account / CoV Account and iRO account. Not all petitons take a month...stuck and mission screwupps for instance normally get dealt with pretty quickly... ========= "I am not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why can`t we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem fix its self |

EQ2 Graphics >>> WoW, from a technical stand point. IMO artistically they are greater too, but some people prefer the more cheerful, crayon graphics of WoW over EQ2's darker, more realistic graphics. Also, eq2 looks like **** without a decent graphics card, where was WoW because it is mainly a 2d texture game, and uses much less polygons, and smaller detailed texture files, doesn't need anywhere near the gpu power. Years older? WoW and EQ2 were released on the same month in the same year. As far as looking better, thats a matter of opinion.
Mine is that EQ2's graphics looks way cooler than WoW's, if you have a good enough system to display them.

That should read Simutronics TBH. They've been in the online gaming business since 1987 and are pretty much the granddaddy of the MMO community.
I started playing one of their games in 1996, and I still play 10 years later.
CCP is good with their community, true. But Simu's devs are a lot more active within the community and are recruited directly from the playerbase.
In short, these awards suck. There is no sense of history to them in addition to the glaringly obvious lack of research. ---- IOI? |
