Need your help - ** 10 million ISK for best answer **. I have bought a full capital set (dreadnoughts, carriers, components for these). I will produce the components in safe space - as minerals are most abundant for sale there. Question is - where to produce the ships? For consideration: I want to minimize my time spend to the absolute minimum, so want to prevent flying as much as possible! Sub question 1: can these ships be produced everywhere or is there a 'max o.x' constraint? Sub question 2: would potential buyers be very 'chosy' as to where the ship is located? Why? Will that influence my maximum sales price achieble?

You have to build them in .4 or lower.
Most customers who are in the market for a dread won't be too worried about where it is located as long as the price is reasonable.

Pick one of the 0.0 gateway areas and fine a semi safe location as close as possible, that way when people do all the dread / carrier jumps you can deliver it to one of their usual POS refueling dreads.
If you're really determined to sell these things you're best off getting a specific buyer for your stuff and they can pick them up in lowsec at alotted times.

Your best bet is 0.4 space that can be easily accessed from empire, but is also near enough to sections of 0.0 space with good high-end mineral yields (and plenty of miners) so that you'll find yourself not far from plentiful markets of both high end and low end materials. Secondly, you want to build these at a Capital Construction Yard in a VERY well defended POS. You'll need a large POS with plenty of weaponry. I'd recommend a lot of friends too. You really don't want a couple of dreads showing up, knocking off your POS, and making off with a lot of valuable components and BPOs.
As for location in the EVE universe, I'll have to disagree with Shamis. Your dread pilots will need to be able to jump their ships to wherever they plan on keeping them. Since they can't jump into empire, it can be a long trip and a lot of jump fuel to get jumped around to the other side of the galaxy. Location means everything. In that scenario, if your dread pilot wants his ship parked on the other side from empire where you build it, he'll probably just go through another manufacturer who builds them closer. Your best bet is setting up shop close enough to a fair-sized 0.0 alliance (not the biggest ones, they usually build their own) that will have a lot of demand for them (POS war for example).
Remember that dreads jump based upon actual distance in light years, so you'll also want to pick a location that will be easy to for dread pilots to jump into low-traffic 0.0 space where they can go about setting up a string of cyno fields to get to where they need to go without running into too many hostiles.
And honestly, don't skimp on the defenses. If at all possible, keep the location secret, or as secret as you can. Jump the ships you build at least a ways away from where you build them so that you won't find a dread fleet on your doorstep.
