I know this is probably one zillionth post about this, but if anyone out there knows, please respond; could someone please explain to the dumb me why the hell my character portrait isn't showing up anywhere but ingame, my char is Amarr Khanid, i have a suspicion that it's because it is a new bloodline, but surely CCP wouldn't be so lazy as not to fix that before releasing new bloodlines?!

i just info'ed your character on TQ and the portrait showed up fine. i got no errors in the logs at all and all was displayed correctly

If your complaining because your portait only shows up as a ! oin the forums, stop. It takes a while (weeks or months) for it to eventually get onto the server holding them all. Just be patient.

yea i was talking about the forums; my character is going on four months old i'll have you know, then why is it that if create any other old bloodline character it shows up that instant on the 'Character Page' and in the forums? few months yea right, only the new bloodlines have to suffer showing up as exclamation marks on the forums, i mean even the dev.. now that's just sad

Dont worry, you arent alone. This is also a bloodlines char, Achura. I've seen very few bloodlines avatars on the forums.

Actually, this character is Caldari Civire (Definitely not bloodlines). Character birthdate is 4/30/06, and at the time of posting has a (!) as well. I'm thinking its a server problem more than a Bloodlines bug.

Exactly, I thought I remembered reading somewhere that they have a seperate server that takes pictures from In-game characters and dumps them to the web server. They called it an "Image Doubling" server or something, I'm kinda drawing a blank. Anyway, I guess thats the hamster that bit the dust, not the game or webserver itself.

I believe the Devs refer to it as the Renderslave. Basically takes your char's model information, and renders it in the large and small formats used on the website, then uploads it to myeve for use. That's why he can see his portrait ingame, cause the client does that rendering in that case. It's not unknown for the renderslave to break, and if it does it usually takes a while for it to catch up again.
Of course it could also have got to the point where characters are being created faster than the Renderslave can process them - I dread to think how many new alts were created to play around with the new bloodlines.

i changed my portrait like 2 months ago and it still shows the old one to ppl that still have my old picture in cache. yes, the new one is there if you manually clear the portrait cache or click on me the first time, but my 2nd account where i didnt do that on purpose to see how long it takes still shows my old toon and another person confirmed it. i heard it takes at least 3 months... can the server not set a flag to force clients to re-load the portrait if someone changed it? like re-set it to an exclamation mark.
i dont mind that the forum takes forever to update, but please change it in-game too.

I was getting the same thing on the forums with my alt, then i sold her, i starting to think CCP cant handle the influx of new players in eve 
When i started eve the max players was generally on a saturday nite and wa about 16k players. Now its closer to 26k two years later.
In two more years im starting to think possibly 46k if its anything like moore's law.
BTW my believe in why the portrats arent showing on forums.

I rekon this has more to do with the fact that someone runs the maintenance utility that does this.
As such, I would guess we'll not see that updated until we get a huge patch. (or rather, a real excessive downtime)

Going on 5.5 months now. I have just come to except I will always be an  on the forums and don't mind. I do think it has something to do with the new bloodlines and maybe the power of 2 thing because I know there are a few of us that where born at around the same time and do not have a face on the forums.
