Ever wondered how long it would take to train all the skills in EVE? Using EVEMON, I took my n00b char and added EVERY skill to his plan list. The total time I ended up with, learning skills first of course, for 1,583 skills planned (323 unique skills) Total training time, drumroll please.... ...... ....
8187 days, 1 hour, 30 minutes, 21 seconds... THAT'S 22YEARS!
Think you can optimise it better? Load up EVEMON and post your results! Of course individual attributes and skill order may have an effect on the length of time to train. Have fun!

Ok... I downloaded it... and it's asking me to sign in with my EVE username and password... I don't trust this thing. too bad too, it looked cool from the site.

There is an option to load your character XML instead.

Edited by: Nefrin Maldoes on 01/08/2006 07:23:39 I hope EVE is around that long to train everything!
I have not loaded up EVERYTHING personally, but was playing around with some ideas of where I would like my character to go down the line, and I thought the following was kinda funny.
I compared how long it would take me to train enough skills to get into a Titan vs. How long to train all the new drone skills that were added, here are the numbers:
Currently have Drones IV and Scout Drones IV, my stats are: 19int, 20cha, 29per, 18mem, 25wil (all learning skills maxed and a full set of +3 implants). To learn all the drones skills: 222 days and change. Edit: this does not include mining drone skills, or any other racial drone skills besides Minmatar.
To get into a Titan and max out all the skills for it: 220 days and change.
I don't think I have the patience to add ALL the skills to the planning queue in EVEMon. Maybe if I'm drunk one night.

It's longer than 22 years, because more skills will be added, making your time go up.

Yeah i was about 270days when I queried a Titan I understand not having the patience to add them all though, I was just traveling on auto pilot so I figured I may has well play with EVEMON to pass the time. Unfortunately I was auto piloting through 0.0 and funilly enough I got attacked hehe. Once I got away, I decided to close EVE and continue adding skills to the plan
Edit: Oh and Malthros Zenobia, I was thinking that myself, but at current this is it hehe... I wonder if CCP has an uber character lying around that knows EVERYTHING. Perhaps he's called the all knowing Oricle, or the Archetect of the skills... hang on this is starting to sound way too familiar

Yes, of course it's nonsense. That's why its in general discussion and not skill planning or whatever. It's simply here so you can say, "wow thats a long time! 22yrs worth of skills currently, i'm deffinately not going to run out of things to train"
Of course you wouldn't literally train a character in all skills. That WOULD be nonsensical.

Mining Dread, no Rat could even hope to move your shields !!
Seriously, last a lot of skills and a lot of training time. I am wondering how much you could drop off with the "Perfect" training character and of course, the best possible implants. I use EVEMon a lot and I planned how long it's going to take me to fly a carrier, which is extremely handy. I'll take the time to say "Well done Six and the team at EVEMon", keep up the good work, and to you Venni, may your training times never get any shorter for bringing this to our attention. ----------

At launch, many players did try to train everything.
That's why many old characters are kind of borked when it comes to specialization.
A lot of the SP's are useless...

New skills are added once or twice a year, so in 22 years from now there would a lot more skills in the game and so we could calculate 50 years to train them all.
We cannot train everything, but we can specialize and master some area.

Wrong, because you would need to train learning skills on each accounts, adding to the total number of ranks to train :)

the source code is available for your inspection and quite a few people on these forums have verified that the code contains no underhanded manhandling of your account details :p

'Tis one of the best things in EVE - no matter how long you've been playing, someone is better at -something- than you :) And you can be better at something than most other players with a bit of planning :)

I could bet that you have a search going on for posts with the words "dread", "mining" and "roid" running on your servers. There is no other way to explain how you almost always manage to post in the right threads at the right time. ---------------------------------- I am free \o/ Sadly your sig is also slightly above the required limits of 400 x 120, total size not exceeding 24000 kbs - Cortes |

Shhh dread+mine in the same thread is the secret keywords Well not really but I should add those keywords to the EVE-Search spider asap haha - would be a misstake to miss out on those threads.
