Last night we had a awesome fights, about 8 of us vs about 10-15 other guys. We pwned them of course and there was lots of loot. Unfortunately, some neutral was running around picking up OUR loot and there was nothing we could do about it.
We killed war targets and it was in 0.5, so we couldn't just pop the sucker. Please can something be done about this, like a dual ownership or something, I think it's only fair that if some neutral starts stealing my well earned loot, I can pop him.
Pretty pls?
Nate.

I agree, in my home system there is a corp that likes to rob miners. When they can't rob you they will blow up your can. You now get kill rights but how is a mining barge suspose to fight a BC? You can't! Your defenders can't help you either cause as soon as they attack they guy who is blowing up your can Concord takes them out.
It would be nice if the Gang could get kill rights on an Aggressor, then the person who's job it is to kill rats can also kill the smacktard who is just trying to cause trouble!
I know that Piracy is part of the game, but being helpless when someone is attacking your cans is very annoying!

Ore thieves are the lowest form of scum. They usually target NPC corp members who they know can't have friends back them up.
The trouble is that for the players who have teh skills and resources to stand up to them, there's no gain from it, since they drop lame loot and you can't pod in high-sec without a war on.
It's crap.
I think loot cans should be inaccessible to anyone but the owner, the owner's corp and the guy who killed the ship in the case of PvP for ten minutes after their creation.
As for mining, if you aren't in a barge, just strap a tractor bean in a high slot and tractor your can at all times. Nobody can get into it then.

Ans when you fire on anyone in lowsec, concord ships should warp in and take 90% of the fire for you? Same principle, Reggie.

I don't understand. What do you think the principle is, and how does your example adhere to it?

What Maya means is that it's coddling people who aren't strong enough to fend for themselves, which isn't what EVE is about. EVE is about getting war decced by pirates then getting your new Typhoon ganked by them in 4 cruisers (and an incursus) loaded with WCS and ECM because you had the bright idea to travel alone. Before you ask, yes that did happen to me a few seconds ago. -----------------------------------------------------------

Ouch. Condolences.
But if you're right about Maya's post, she's misinterpreted my intent. The problem is that EvilNate can't get the loot he's earned in fair PvP because some jerk came by and took it, and Concord defends the jerk. If anything, the thief is being coddled. If stealing that can flagged you to the guys on the killmail, as well as to the owner of the destroyed ship, then this wouldn't be an issue.
It's an example of noobie coddling gone horribly awry, and being abused by players who know where the loopholes are to claim benefits they don't deserve, like thieves flying a HAC to an ore can and transferring all of the ore to a can of their own, then having a friend come haul it away knowing that even if the miner wanted to defend his property, he can't do it without either a) taking the ore back and being flagged to a HAC or b) shooting at an unflagged hauler and getting Concorded. That's total crap, and something should be done.
In a state of nature, a 0.0 galaxy, we wouldn't be having this conversation, because EvilNate would have just shot the thief. The rules that are supposed to protect the helpless from abuse are instead protecting the abusers from retribution. That's a big problem.

Oh, don't get me wrong Reggie, I totally support getting kill rights when PVP loot is stolen. Happened to me a few times. Generally managed to track the buggers down and make them pay, but it does bother me. Well, then it was a good point, and deserved to have been made with less sarcasm.
