I read an interesting but confusing post on an MMO forums...
Can you read what this person said and comment appropriately with the 'truth' ? I hate being mislead by ppl who dont know what theyre talking about !
They said -
"There will be Tech3 Ships in Kali"
"There is no such thing as Tier, only tech, i.e tech1 and tech2"
They also mentioned
"...Rangers"
and that
"bounty loot from NPC rats in Low sec adjusts according to your sec status"

There will be Tech3 Ships in Kali
- No Tech 3 ships in Kali
- Tier 3 BattleShips will be in Kali
- Salvaging from ship wreck and "ship implants" will be in Kali. This is however not Tech 3
There is no such thing as Tier, only tech, i.e tech1 and tech2
- Wrong. There are Tier 1, 2, 3 and 4 Tech 1 cruisers, Tier 1 and Tier 2 BattleShips, etc.

Well whoever wrote that are complete nubtards.
There wont be any tech 3 ships in kali ther will however be tier 2 battlecruisers and tier 3 battleships.
Tier just means level Eg..
Armageddon = Tier 1
Apocalypse = Tier 2
Abaddon = Tier 3
as for the rest i never heard anything about loot been standing specific and i doubt its true.
Rangers ? wtf do they mean snipers or freeks that work for the minbari

tech3 - no such thing (yet), they are mistaking the Teir 3 BS that are coming.
Rangers - never heard of this before.
Loot and Sec Status - Seems unlikely, why would a rat drop good loot for a high sec player and not for a low sec player?

Who on earth could afford a Tech 3 battleship?! Same people who could use titans? Far be it from me to gripe, but maybe we should be looking at creating more realistic ships that will have more impact on the community (IE: T1 frigates and cruisers) rather than making Laborghinis and Fararris. I mean yeah, the sportscar is damnes sexy, but who can afford it?

Sort of. I believe they have a staggered release plan as Kali is a very large update. It'll start sometime this fall and probably finish next year sometime after the release of Vista.

Tier 4 and 5 Frigs and cruisers would be nice. Dont get me wrong tech 2 for the win, but sometimes if fun just to jump in a group of cheap throw away tech 1 frigs and go hit some 5/10 and 6/10 complexes just for ****'s and giggles

Its tier 3 not tech 3.
And they will cost around 150million.

Tier 3 will cost about 150 mill yes, but they were talking about tech 3 i dont even want to guess what a tech 3 ship will cost.

Never heard of Rangers, but it could be a useful ship class, fire off some kind of flashbang that either blinds a player in RL (or just disables their monitor somehow), so that they cant see what they're doing (to warp out), giving my missiles time to hit....I like it.
I want rangers.

There are plans for up to tech 5 in eve but ccp have not decided when/how to introduce them (and there fore tech 3-5 are not ingame yet (unless you like to call dev cheat mods tech 3))
also we hve another stage to go yet before tech 3 we need meta (named) tech 2 items. There are a few in the game but they are rareer than rare
teir = the level of the main skill you need to fly a ship
e.g.
Megathron needs gallente battleship 2 and is theirfore a teir 2 battleship
Dominix needs gallente battleship 1 and is theirfore a teir 1 battleship

There aren't even any tech III modules out yet, so tech III ships are probably not any where in the foreseeable. Heck, There aren't even any tech II battleships yet!
Honestly I don't even know if "tech III" is a good idea at all. What skills would tech III equipment require? Well they'd have to add another tier of skills with even higher training time requirements, to the point of being ridiculous. I don't think the system was designed to ever accomodate tech III. And I don't really want to see tech III frigates that can own a battleship without breaking a sweat, even if they do cost a billion isk apiece.

Kind of. Ship and weapon modification is Tech 3.

False. Tiers are basically the order of a catagory. For example, Tier 1 battleships are the Geddon, Scorp, Domi and Phoon, Tier 2 are the Apoc, Raven, Megathron and Tempest, and Tier 3 are the Abaddon, Rokh, Hyperion and Maelstrom.

Possibly - with faction warfare and some hits and the bounty system being overhauled this could be true, but might also be utter *******s.

Tech 3 apparantly in the future will be availble from reverse engineering tech 2 BPC to get a tech 3 BPC... but not for a long time yet i think.

Actually,in a sense,we already have some T3 gear already out,except it isn't named that way and costs a fortune in some cases,but i'd expect similar stats once they're out officially...Officer modules for things like shield/amout tanking gear,damage mods,cap rechargers and cap relays...The list is quite extensive actually.
