the channel is whatever people make it. The more drug experts we have the better. Obviously it is also a place you can meet people looking tobuy your stuff or sell you theres.

Good thing - because ALL my agent offers from one sector have been about drug shipments. Those Amarr are all junkies and potheads it seems ...

Never thought I'd see turf battles fought over access to sellers rather than buyers.
I think the new escrow system might even help smuggling if it is more indexed than escrow. Too bad about the order limits on individuals though, as it will be harder for all those mission runners to just list them for specialists to transport them. Good for p2p communication-based economy, but bad for the profession as a whole.
Maybe CCP should move the narco squads to the stations as well as the routes to prompt more participation, and lessen stockpiling. You'll need to boost payouts a little bit in order to prevent missioners from just leaving it in the fields though. Probably we need another source of narcotics aside from npcers of course. NPCers are responsible for more volume sales on the market than t1 and t2 combined probably, and as far as empire goes they have a near monopoly on narcotics.
If you do a mission versus drug groups, your ship should really be marked so that you HAVE to make a choice between turning evidence over to authorities, or trying to smuggle it out. This would be better than letting it be ignored in jetcans. The agent might allow you to keep the drugs (minus a cut and your normal reward) if you don't care to turn it in to the authorities. Just the idea of missioners being forced to be lackeys of The Man makes me happy.
