A charon freighter is 16,250,000 m¦ volume.
16,250,000/1000 =16,250KM¦
Doesn't that make a charon about 16 THOUSAND kilometers long?
And has an internal space of 785,000m¦
785,000/1000 =785KM¦
Doesn't that make the internal space of a freighter large enough to have an entire fleet battle in? Complete with enough distance to warp 600km + in any direction?
Or did I miss something. ___________________________________________ The deeper you stick it in your vein, the deeper the thoughts there's no more pain. ___________________________________________ |

1 km3 = 1000m x 1000m x 1000m = 1.000.000.000 m3

That would be relevant if the original measurements weren't in m¦ already.
All I did was reduce to KM.
Edit, yeah, I do suck at math. ___________________________________________ The deeper you stick it in your vein, the deeper the thoughts there's no more pain. ___________________________________________ |

Indeed. 1,000,000m3 = 1km3. Think about it. ---------------------------

Edited by: Encad Briht on 01/08/2006 18:28:43 1 km¦ = 1000¦ m¦ = 1'000'000'000 m¦
so the charon has a bay of 0.016 km¦. Fits the size i think.

You'll find that the cube root of 16,250,000 is a touch under 254 (253.29)
"=16250000^(1/3)" in Excel.
This is interesting as I guess that's about as big as they could make it while still storing the numbers as 8 bit, and getting some sort of rollover. Something nasty probably happens with memory usage when they hit 255.

That 254m number is also assuming its cubic ofc, but its a good ballpark estimate anyways...Probably more like 343m wide, 69m tall, and 688m long, something that would conform to the Charon's rough size relations.
