Right....so as you can guess I got a Cynnabal BPC as a drop yesterday of some crap low ISK Domi cruiser that was wandering about in a belt. However when it comes to setups, I've no idea how to equip it? To me it seems to be a bit short on PG for an Arty Setup, so I'm guessing the order of the day is an A/C setup.
So if you have a good Cynnabal setup, could you share your knowledge?
...on the other hand using a banana might be a viable alternative.

Maybe list the stats since they aren't readily available to people. That might help. For now, mine is fit with 3 WCSs, 3 Nanos and an afterburner. I have to get it out of lowsec tonight .

The Cynabal was one of the earliest designs put forth by the Angel Cartel, and to this day it remains their most-used. The ship's origins are unknown, but as with most Cartel ships persistent rumors of Jovian influence continue to linger. Whether they have basis in reality or not, the facts are on the table: the Cynabal is one of the fastest, most powerful cruisers to be found anywhere.
Special Ability: 25% bonus to Medium Projectile Turret rate of fire
Minmatar Cruiser Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to Medium Projectile Turret damage per level Gallente Cruiser Skill Bonus: 7.5% bonus to Medium Projectile Turret tracking speed per level

You are wrong. It is a mix of stabber and rupture basically. It is as strong as a ruppy while being almost as fast as a stabber. The vaga plays in a whole different league and is a LOT better then the cynabal.

My Cynabal setup follows:
4 x 220mm Autocannon IIs 1 x Arbalest Assault launcer 1 x Medium Diminishing Power System Drain
1 x 10mn Afterburner II 1 x named webber 1 x named warp inhibitor (2 points)
1 x Medium armor repper II 3 x Armor kinetic, thermic, explosive Hardener IIs 2 x Gyrostab IIs (sometimes switched out for warp core stabs for certain situations)
Yes the vagabond is better, but the cynabal is far superior to the rupture or stabber. Also, if you train for this ship, it isnt much further to train for a Machariel. My corpmates refer to the cynabal as a Mini-Mach all the time. I call the Cynabal a "poor-man's hac". One of my alliance mates has killed several vagabonds while flying a Cynabal, so it is not a ship to be trifled with. That 25% rate of fire bonus really rocks. So if you want a hac, but don't have 6 weeks to train for it or the 250 million for a vagabond, get a Cynabal. they go for about 150 million at the time of this writing.

Edited by: Mutti on 20/10/2006 12:28:06 No no no... Cynabal a small Vagebond? Its an overly expensive Muninn that doesnt perform half as well. Muninn has better resistances and get an Optimal range bonus also. would never compare it to a Vaga or a Stabber. but for killing weak hac's like the Vagabond (if it can catch it) and for cruiser class and below its a great ship... just still think a Muninn is better and cheaper.. it ofc needs more skills :)
Highs: 4x 220mm Vulcan II's 2x Med Dimi Nos
Mids: Web Scram AB II
Lows: 2x Gyrostab 3x Hardener II's (EXP, KIN, THE) 1x Armor Rep II

Am I the only one that thinks the Cynabel should get a powergrid increase? The Rupture did, and now the Munnin and several other cruisers have... it seems like the Cynabel has been forgotton about and it can be tough to fit one out :( |

My set up: High: 4x 220 T2 / 2 Heavy Assault Launchers
Med: 10AB MWD T2 / True Sansha Web (14km) / 20km Warp Scrambler
Low: Med ARmour Rep T2 / TS Passive Armour Hardners / 10% PG Upgrade if needed.
This gives me 70% to all Armour Resists with 3k/s speed

Necromancy! Of only a couple of months since the last one. Looking for ideas on good setups for missions, ratting, and poissibly PvP. Although I know you can fit it like a rupture or somesuch, just wondering if anybody's got some ideas besides that. Rig ideas, perhaps? Faction gear that will make a noticeable difference?
Fitting skills are decent, but be kind.

4x 220mm autocannon, 2x med nos OR 4x 425mm autocannon mwd, webber OR cap injector, scram 2x nanofiber, 2x overdrive, damage control, small armor rep II
Essentially, lose the web and nos if you plan on keeping outside of web/nos range. This goes 3km/s with decent named/t2 modules and decent navigation skills. Note: the armor rep isn't to tank, it's to minimize docking for repairs.

The lack of faction in this thread distrubs me...
HIGH: 2x Domination/Republic 425mm's 2.58/sec 7.033 x mod at med. projectile 3 2x Domination/Republic 220mm's 2.10/sec 5.62 x mod at med. projectile 3 2x Domination Assault Launchers 7.62/sec Top off with Republic Fleet Ammo for the extra kick.
MID: True Sansha Web. (Domination if you feel like being fancy) Cladari Warp Scrambler (Dark Blood or Domination if you feel like being fancy.) T2 AB
LOW: 2 T2 Gyros (Domination would fit, but price may not help.) T2 Steel Plate 4188 armor 2 T2 EAMN 82% 46% 55% 61% with all armor com. to 4 T2 Armor Repairer
Pretty much the name of the game is start up close and blast the crap out of your target. It will tear any T1 cruiser/ tier 1 battlecruiser a new one. Also it's very effective against battleships other then the fact if the guy figures out to attack you your screwed, it tears through shields and armor very well in most cases. Great for gangs, it adds that touch to the gankage.

Except for the last poster above, no one is mentioning 425's. I wonder why, as it has the pg to handle four of them, and the tracking bonus would seem to fit right in.
What say you?

I would imagine without uber skills/implants using 425mm would mean that you could not use a NOS(s)
I am currently kitting out a Cynabal for PvE and using 425mm turrets is problematic.
As for using faction turrets. Cost is no longer an issue, it is availability.
I'll post my setup once I am happy with it :)

Sorry for the necro but what do you guys think of this setup? 4x 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Barrage M 2x 'Arbalest' Heavy Missile Launcher, Caldari Navy Thunderbolt Heavy Missile
1x 10MN MicroWarpdrive II 1x Large Shield Extender II 1x Warp Disruptor II
3x Overdrive Injector System II 2x Nanofiber Internal Structure II 1x Damage Control II
Hobgoblin II x3
Most of the people armor tank the ship in this thread but I noticed that the ship with just a named MWD and no velocity mods goes above 2000m/sec so I decided to fit it for speed. It was also very difficult to fit an effective armor tank without rigs...
Max speed is about 4689m/sec without implants or rigs With basic 3% velocity hardwirings about 4808m/sec Almost 300 dps with almost max skills

That looks like a decent speed tanking setup. However, like all speed tanking setups, don't expect to hit anything with the guns while the MWD is running. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

That.
Also, three overdrives and two nanos is fail on a Cynabal, since it has horrible agility then.
A ship with a double damage bonus and tracking bonus says something else about how it wants to be fitted ;) Sig removed, inappropriate link. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

The agility is fine. It turns better than a nano-curse or nano-ishtar. And btw overdrives and nanofibers don't increase agility. Overdrives have no direct effect on agility and nanofibers actually increased it by decreasing mass. Learn the game mechanics pls. But I'll STFU now.

Tbh, a istab II does wonders for your agility, try how do you like the handling of this: istab II, 2x nano II, 2x OD II. You'll have a bit less topspeed, but you'll reach your topspeed much faster and turn much faster. Since you're not going to MWD all the time anyway and will pulse it, this is significantly more important.
At any rate, the fleet stabber is better for nano-ing, because it can pull the dual LSE trick. Sig removed, inappropriate link. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

Med-Slot: 1x 10MN MicroWarpdrive II 1x Warp Disruptor II 1x Large Shield Extender II

Rig-Slot: 3x Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Drones: Acolyte II x3
With my skills and with no implants, i do 5515 m/s and 8032 m/s with MWD overloaded.
I'll do 304 DPS with this setup. And i have 5776 shield.
Good or bad setup?

This is my setup, and for my tacics it worked wonders. Sadly it died to a gang with 3 webbing crows (?????)
4x t2 dual 180mm IIs 2x arbelast assualt missile launchers
1x 10 MWD II 1x 24km point 1x Large cap battery II
2x overdrive II 2x Nanofibers II 2x Gyrostabs II
1x Faloff rig for Projectiles 1x Thruster rig 1x Inertia rig(cant remember names of those)
Sure the seup isnt usual, but it was VeRY cap stable, capped out first after 15 mins of all mods running or so, and if you sacrificed a gyro for a CPR II it was 100% cap stable. And for me that is very important, as fights can last very long for us.
Seeing no cap-stable setups here this was worth posting ;) -----------------------------

Here's mine (which I've been using recently, on very rare occasions though as it's a paper ship and only really useful for interceptor or other papership killing):
Highs: 4x 220MM AC II [Barrage M] 2x XT-something HAM [CN Terror]
Mids: 1x 10MN MWD II 1x Warp Distruptor II 1x Stasis Webifier II
Lows: 1x DC II 1x Inertia Stabilizer II 1x Nanofiber II 3x Gyrostabilizer II
Rigs: 1x Falloff rig -still thinking about the two other ones-
Load whatever drones are appropriate.
Only makes sense with heat - so if you don't have heat, because you're too slow and your webber doesn't reach far enough otherwise, and you need the extra DPS anyway.
So far has killed a Vagabond, a Taranis and a Crow ;)

The setup i ended up using was this, more or less a vaga.. but with style.
220mm Vulcan AC II 220mm Vulcan AC II 220mm Vulcan AC II 220mm Vulcan AC II Heavy Missile Launcher II Heavy Missile Launcher II
10MN Microwarpdrive II Warp Disruptor II Large Shield Extender II
Overdrive II Overdrive II Local Hull Inertia Local Hull Inertia Gyrostabilized II Gyrostabilizer II
Polycarb Core Defence Field Extender Core Defence Field Extender
3x Hobgobs
With no implants and decent skills, 3700m/s, 365 dps, 8k shields. Of course, there's no real point to fly this over a vaga, exept the looks.
