I never read or post on these forums, but i have a question ..
Why can't we use any kind or organising can in a freighter ?
Why do we have to sort thru 5000 mods and lists and stuff to get peoples gear right ?
I can't think of a quicker way to make a vet player ( long time customer ) throw their puter thru the window and cancel their account ...
So - why ?

Then if you're so unhappy, just go back to the time before freighters, and move all your stuff in haulers with a max of 28k cargo per ship. Problem solved.

Probably because a freighter with 300 Giant Containers in its hold is a bit laggy.
...on the other hand using a banana might be a viable alternative.

You can't use Giant, Huge, Small containers in Freighters....
You can't use courier mission containers in Freighters ....
You can't use station containers ...
Wow - in fact you can't use ANY containers in freighters - apart from the useless freighter containers

I was refering to the topic they made when they restricted the use of giant cans in the freighters.

Because they had several whining about freighters not dropping cans, this reason was:
Freighters drop too many things, which would mean it could be exploited by players that carry too many items just for the purpose of crashing the server.
Like, leaving a freighter full of shuttles outside a station and leaving it to get in a ship that can shoot something, shoot station or anything that might cause concord to acress, now you have your ship blowing up, next the freighter, next a few thousand shuttles.
Big crash.
People carrying bookmarks, massive spam of cans.
They haven't found a way to restrict this or code it so it wouldn't cause these. So aslong as they don't. You're screwed.

But that has no connection to freighters that are still in one piece ...
... you can pop a freighter and not leave any loot whether it had giant cans in or not ...

That's the way they want it to be, until they find a way to make freighter drop cans without making it exploitable and give people a way to easily crash the server with freighter filled with random trash.

I see, so how about you read this.
How about, They give you the ability from the start, to fit giant secure cans in them, while not dropping anything since they're trying to find a viable way to make it work, they let you use it. Now they find a way to make freighter drop 'safely' loot when they explode, they take away your ability to fit giant secure since that would cause alot of trash in space when it blows up.
Now what do you have? alot of people moaning they could do it for over half a year and now they can't.
Ok, so can you read this? If that doesn't make sense, i don't know what will.

How about - allow you to use GSC in the ship or even courier mission packages .
When it blows it drops nothing - just like now.
Finished and everyone is happy. Apart from the pirates who blew you up .. but fukkem.

You seem very hung up on the exploit thing .... what does carrying GSC or Courier packs have to do with what you drop ?

CCP restricts GSC from being equipped as a protection from their poor ability to code the freighters to properly and armlessly drop loot.
CCP restricts freighters from dropping loot to prevent lag/crashes by freighters full of millions of different items appearing in midspace at once. Like thousands of shuttles.
CCP tries to test out a way on the test server to finally make the freighter drop loot, failed.
Players wonders why GSC aren't allowed to be carried in the freighter while they're trying to find a way to fix the issues.
FREAKING READ.

So... what's the problem with getting/having a SINGLE jetcan appear where the freighter USED to be ?
Or even better, spawn a non-dissapearing "freighter wreck" that contains everything ?
The only possible lag would be for the person opening the jetcan/wreck to see what's inside.

the biggest prob of freighters atm is the horrible amount of different stuff which all need to be loaded before u can do other things while in space (module activation, navigation etc.). the lag caused by this giant cargos is similar to a frigate full with 20k of bms or even worse.
opening a freighter cargo is like copying bms it takes loooong time. if ccp manages to solve this "lag by dozens of items" problem it will solve loads of other issues like blob warfare, bm copying etc.
recently i heard that its impossible to fly a convoy of 10+ freighters without being lagged to death and being vulnerable to enemies.
