I have read all the posts about ferox setups, and i have a question. Im grinding through level 2 mission in 0.3 space, and have
High
3x assault launchers
2x heavy launchers
2x blaster or rail (depending)
i know everyone seams to use 5x heavy launchers, but against EVE's lame missions, where you fight 100 frigs over and over, i find that its better to go with what i have as opposed to the common 5x heavy. most of my mission just have like 1 or 2 cruisers, so i dont see why i should go 5x heavy, other than to be cool. Plus, gankers/poders tend to be in interceptors / assult ships. not that i would kill them anyway cause i suck, but i just dont see the point of the 5x heavy launchers. I'm new (3 million skill points) so please help me out with this issue.

If you're mostly shooting at frigates, just go for 5x assault launchers.
Mixing weapons systems never works well.

well because my mission are in 0.3, i tend to get 1 or 2 cruiser size ships, but ya. TY.

For Lvl II's run 5 assaults and 2 tractor beams (if you even want to deal with picking up the crap loot).
For III's you'll need decent drone skills for the frigs and heavies for the cruisers/BC's.

or how about spec your rails and use 250 II and kill the frigs with one volly???

ya, eventually i could do that. im working sheilds and capacitor and drone skills for now though.

You should be flying a Caracal for those mission IMO but when you hit L3 missions, you will need to fit the Ferox with the standard setup of 5 heavies to kill the bigger ships faster. Use drones to kill the frigs.

For lvl 3's you dont need good drone skills mate, just wack em the moment you get into deadspace/encounter. They will be approaching you and your missiles will insta pop them in one volley.

For dealing with frigs, a target painter works well with heavies.

Use a caracal for level 2s, you'll run the missions alot faster. I kept my ferox in the hangar till i started running level 3s.

For some lvl III's thats fine, but I'm telling you there is a few that you couldn't complete without being able to let your drones focus on the frigs and your missiles focus on the cruisers/BC's. Thats why I recommend decent drone skills for lvl III's. Why not anyways, you target 2 frigs and 2 cruisers, send your drones after the frigs while you hammer the cruisers with heavies.
