Many of us play this game to throw out some **** from our mind cause of RL. This game is good vent.
If you're playing EVE to blow off steam then why do you take it so freaking seriously? What's amazing to us is how incredibly infuriated you guys get over us. Fighting GoonSwarm in-game isn't enough, you have to DRIVE US COMPLETELY OUT OF THE GAME. If something in EVE was getting me THAT upset I sure wouldn't keep on playing it, much less make it my months-long mission to eradicate what was upsetting me, while the whole time stewing in a pot of my own anger.
D2's constant petitioning of every single thing we did and their nonstop accusations of "lag" and "exploits" every time they lost to us ****ed me off pretty good actually. But not to the point where I had to go on the forums and threaten to find them in real life and beat them up like BoB has done, or even to threaten to make life so miserable for them in EVE that they were forced to quit, like BoB has done.
Of course we all know that not all of BoB's members, or most likely even the majority, have enough pure unbridled hatred to spend 6 months devoting all their time in a purely optional computer game to making life miserable for GoonSwarm. Even if they did, it would at worst be a significant annoyance. Basically SirMolle has set you all up for a battle that can't be won.
But really, BoB deciding it wanted to move into Syndicate has probably been BETTER for GoonSwarm than simply going back there unopposed. We were getting pretty sick of constant lag and fights where the only factor was who could escape the warp-in freeze with the most ships intact. Blowing up some guy in a HAC with a gang of T1 frigates is way more gratifying than gatecamping or ratting or mining. And as it turns out, all the empire wars are both fun AND profitable.
Basically the only way you'll get goons out of EVE is by getting us all banned, and despite the way things are shaping up I still think that's really unlikely.
