I've seen no sign of these guys at all, and with all the lore having existed for some time, one would think the would be SOME kind of evidence of their existance, pre-Kali. But not for some time now I think. There was an event years ago where a Jove Admiral and his 4 brothers (clone) went mad and escaped with their Jove Battleships and it took whole fleets to bring down one of these ships. Has been a while since I've seen one but if I remember correctly it was something along the lines of 99% across the board. Shield Armor and Structure.. So you won't be able to pop him before he can teleport you to jita.

In short, to kill them, you'd need hundreds of smartbombs or doomsday devices at once.

According to Battle Clinic, there is a specific skill for just this frig... but no mention of Jove there. Isis Dea Minmatar Raging Phoenix Incorporated	Posted - 2006.08.04 18:39:00 - [21] According to what information I have found in public item lookups, I've managed to locate a number of incomplete projects as well as the statistics on faction vessels which were complete and well into the game. I'm not sure however, the GMs and Moderators of Eve are aware of how much these public item lookup sites are though. The stats found for the polaris frigates include a light shield, impossible tank armor and enough hull to outtank a titan (tons of 99% resistance and a shield recharge rate that is about as good as a constant shield booster). To top things off, with a powergrid and CPU that is bigger than anything I've run into in Eve, it has 1 medium and 1 high slot for fitting... But with the CPU and power, that one slot you could fit a titan superweapon on it. In other words, "Don't Shoot The GM!" Now, despite what the public think, they aren't Jove in any way. Polaris frigates (currently only frigates) are special craft for GMs and made for GMs only. They will never be given to public (it would be a dark day if they were) due to the incredible potential to be invincible in them. However, Jovian technology... Thats another story. According to tales and stories, the Jove are a mystery and a card that the Devs have yet to play. Item lookups show no results for "Jove" or "Jovian" tech other than skillbooks for frigates, cruisers, and battleships (if I remember right). This means that it is a project indeed and possibly means the Devs are looking into craft to fit into these books (rather than Polaris ships, which if looked up, you'll see there is only one skill book and that is given to the GM to train and use, hence not allowing others to be able to aquire the craft by any means should the rare happen). Now, I took this info and thought back on the incomplete faction BPCs in the making which include the Mordus faction frigate and cruiser. Using the belief that objects planning to be released had BPCs made for them, I searched for blueprints. Lacking names, the only thing to look for was "blueprint"... Which gives you about 10,000 or so results. However, I did spend about 4 hours looking through the blueprints. I found multiple results of "Jovian vessels" which I won't give names to for fear that I might have stumbled on something I wasn't suppose to see yet. However, in the results, were 5 or so frigates, a couple cruisers, and a battleship, all Jovian tier and tech and needed the respected Jove frigate/cruiser/battleship skill. Their stats were not setup like the Polaris frigates. These vessels were balanced out and had high resistance to ECM and enough medium slots to look VERY ideal for PvP or shield tankers. However, the Jove skill itself for any of them requires "Spaceship Command Level 5" before you can train it. Other than that, the Jove ships were very well balanced and looked ideal to be in line for public release. My only guess is that the Jove race isn't complete yet (not finished making the ships), mainly if it is going to factor in with a new character selection (which I doubt, yet, you never know). In the end, the result of this bit of info is, "The Jovian vessels exsist. They just aren't done yet." And you never know... (Don't ask how or which item-lookup I used to find this info to see yourself, in regards to the safety of the Devs and their projects, I'm going to say you need to find out yourself. To the GMs and Devs, if this material that shouldn't be public, you might want to look into exactly who can access the structure of Eve.) ___ _"Akkubai Angels" - Book 1 of My EVE Novel_

I believe if you scan one, it might have some weird polaris skill (like how jove shps need a jove skill apparently). And no, you can't destroy a Polaris ship. Every player in EVE would have to be firing on it and then they MIGHT break the shields, which are something like 5k shields, with 99.9% resists, and a 2second recharge.

There have been instances in the past where a person has found a empty jovian ship (even a battleship) and couldn't jump into it because they didn't have the skills. There was some special event in the past too where a fleet engaged a single jovian BS and it couldn't do anything to it :P. There's a movie of that around too somewhere... Anyway, nah, I just made the screenshot in Photoshop during the MC war because I was bored. The joke was that I had found a secret weapon in my hanger.

Basically I lost all hope in that 2+ yrs ago but still it would be nice if ppl got somewhere between 75 mil and 100 mil SP they we be allowed to migrate thier chars over to Jovians. Can't hurt to dream. {edit} it would be nice for those customers that were that loyal and pumped that much $$ in to CCP's business over that many yrs.

One thing I remember is that the jovian bs had 8/8/8 slots, with the best armor and shields (altho not in an extreme way, about 6-7k) and very good starting resists (again nothing extreme) the site is ran by hippoking I beleave, atleast it has list of his sigs :) ----- Some day in the distant future, We'll all have jump clones and I wont be stuck in canada.

Ciphero	Posted - 2006.08.05 10:23:00 - [46] During the fun little "everywhere is 0.0" on Sisi a while back, one of the devs came out to fight in an Enigma. Appearence-wise, they're just Daredevils with a nice red/black colour scheme. They tank rather more effectively though. It was being webbed by more than 10 ships and had even more pounding away at it, but still took a few minutes to go down. That's a Tech 1 frigate, comparable to a Punisher or Incursus, in case anyone isn't sure. Fear teh Jove :(

Some linkage showing skill reqs Some linkage showing fitting /me wants enigma Back when the devs set up a test server with all systems 0.0 VNC and Subac Tech had taken over a system in Amarrian space and had an awsome encounter with a GM Enigma spamming cruise missiles.He poped a dozen battleships,battlecruisers and cruisers and IIRC a Cerberus before one of my corp members used a cheap Blackbird to ECM the little monster long enough to kill it.The GM came back,poped a few more battleships finished his job and returned to GM land. And fun was had by all.

And when you've podded them, you should absolutly give them their corpse back when they ask for it. Sassniak (or who was it? I can't remember, I'm getting old...) learned that the hard way. The information above is also a clue as to why these ships now have 99.9% reists... :) That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange µons, even death may die.

It shows a Jovian battleship getting engaged by an "XF Fleet" for a few solid minutes and they cant really do much to it.
