Edited by: Arin Fensfield on 05/08/2006 10:47:29 So.. what is so terribly wrong about loading out one ship out of all the others you fly, after an ideal rather than after a bland set of stat numbers? Surely, if I want to fly my Crow - a comparitively inexpensive ship next to all the others - out of all the other ships I use, with twin Gatling lasers and twin rocket launchers, and I understand the risks and any negative results fall solely upon my own head, surely it oughtn't be a problem.. right?
That Crow is designed for fun and to fit with the character I roleplay, not as one more means to increase the sets of numbers I'd rather not have defining what I am inside EVE. So.. is there some great crime I'm comitting here which I fail to even glimpse? My corp leader certainly seems to think I'm an idiot for it inspite of the fact that it's the only ship I fly with an unorthodox configuration. Honestly, he even had the nerve to try to teach me how to read ships' bonusses -.-
I even managed to complete several difficult level two missions with her! So it means the 2xGatling Laser, 2xRocket Launcher configuration has some, admittedly limitted degree of real usefulness too, as well as simply being really fun to fly and fitting with my character.

If it's what you want to do, and you understand the risks and how gimped or not gimped the setup is... knock yourself out.

Edited by: Pottsey on 05/08/2006 11:30:11 To many people are to focused on the most powerful ship they can make. Themes ships with personality are so much more fun. I can sort of understand it for PvP but for PvE often if a themed ship does the job why not take it over a more powerful ship?
Take my domi itĘs rigged after my ideal of passive shield tanking. It works so why not do it? Sure I could swap to an amour tank and fit drone tracking computers which would most likely make me do mission faster but thatĘs just not as fun.
I have a lot of themed ships some I hardly fly like my stealth bomber and Helios both themed after ships in E&B.

I agree completly, fly what you enjoy. Myself that's battleships, though frigs are a load of fun. Almost every BB I use has smart bombs, even though they don't work so great in all situations. Such as empire mission running with a gang mate. Maybe one day CCP will make a smartie boat, till then will keep finding some way to use my wonderful little friends.

The crow is designed for fun? id personally say any ship that can fire is designed for fun the game is designed for fun, but in all fairness that setups for PvE easy single player aspet of eve.
PvP is eve's appeal mainly, use that setup in pvp you'll be eaten alive. --------------------------------------------------------
