So, im flying the crow.
My gang setup looks like this:
3x Rocket Launchers T2 1x Small Hybrid Gun
1x MicroWarp drive 1x Small Cap Battery T2 1x 7,5km Scrambler
1x BCS 1x Cap Power Relay 1x Nanofiber
I orbit within rocket and Scrambler range. Yet this only gives me 2km/s. Im afraid this is not enough.
So 1) Is it worth, DPS wise, to switch out the rockets for standard missiles? 2) Is it worth changing the Scrambler with a disrupter, which takes more cap, and less warp strengh? 3) Maybe my orbitting problem could be fixed by replacing the nano, with a Inertial Stab?
What do you think?

20k scram is the answer to your question. rockets do more damage than standards but hav less range .. take your pick which you would prefer safety or damage ..

With such a tight turning circle its difficult to get your speed very high without implants or expensive loot.
The best remedy is to train up all your navigation skills which affect speed and agility. You have spaceship command at V?
If you're operating in a gang I think you'd be more use to your mates in a light missile crow. They won't really need the damage output of your rockets tbh.
3 standard launcher II's mwd, 2x20km scram or a web low slot cap recharger (the shield nerf ones that give 20%), pdu II (mapc if you cant fit), nanofiber
For this setup to work well you'll need all your cap skills at IV or V including propulsion jamming and fuel conservation.
Your cap won't last forever with an mwd and 2x 20km scrams running so as soon as your buddies arrive, turn the mwd off or leg it.
Don't forget you're a tackle ship.
Raptor does it just as well but with more powergrid issues.

Ok, im toying arround with a new setup:
3x Standard Missile Launchers(Could be T2, but is gonna take me 12 days) 1x Small Hybrid Gun
1x 1nm MWD 1x Web 1x 20km Scrambler
1x Cap Power Relays 1x Small Armor Rep 1x 200mm plate
Would this work out any good?

The omg 1w1n crow... if you lose this vs any inty without snake set, quit eve:
3x std II gisti mwd, 20km scram (or better), t2 med. extender 2x mapc (1 named), cap relay
If you know how to fly intys manually, you cannot lose(that's what i'd use in any dogfight, no warp rule, fit web or even small booster).
It gives something like 1650 shield, and goes something like 5.5km/s without much implants. --------- Torture by ccp: pic |

Interesting. Does that work in groups too?

Do you have enough cap to keep the MWD and scram going?

Edited by: Crellion on 05/08/2006 14:42:34 No you dont. You need at least 2xcpr to run for a long time and that means no shield extender (or a small one) or you need 2cpr and a small battery for it to run forever and that means no tank.
If you drop the mid extender and go "daring" you have less sig and more speed, like so: 3 standard II 1 catalyzed 1x20km 1xsmall shield booster 1x local nano 2xcpr (yes it fits just with AWU4) no implants close to 5km/s relatively cheap and deadly in many situations ... by no means an I win button like Lukec's but then that set up is useless without snakes.
If you want to kill inties without snakes fit 3xrocketsII 1x75II 1xmwdII 1x20km(use wisely) 1xmed extender II, 1xmicro aux 1xlocal nano 1xpduII (you can downgrade soem mods to best named from tech II and squeze a bcu instead of pdu). Set orbit at 8.5km and mwd running. By the time they finally start hitting you are scratching structure. Clever ones turn around and try to get outside 20km before they pop (many will succed with v good skills)

Except that your cap recharge rate won't allow you to use the mwd/disruptor combo for long, that the med shield extender will increase your sig, and that light missile T2 ammo is useless since precision doesen't hit much harder than T1 and fury doesen't have enough range but will for sure hurt either your cpr rate or your speed.
The problem isn't facing noob ceptor pilots, these fights get resolved in a matter of seconds. It's the veteran crow with a setup which can run 24/24 who will give you a hard time, specially when you can't sustain your mwd any more. Your bloodclaws will continue to hit for less than 1 damage, when your opponent will hit for much more.

I have the same problem. I cant sustain both MWD and disruptor.

The crow's job is not not DPS, it main role is tackling. Put some standard launchers 2's on there and a 20K scram and youve got plenty of DPS for inty. Also getting a crow under 10k can mean a likely death.
