I really should start finding out how many pages are in the thread before I post a reply to the first page.

If you're complaining about it lacking a Baldur's Gate-esque NPC + encounters + interactable-terrain style environment then yes you might have a point but I'd probably just say you're playing the wrong game. In EVE the Ogre in the cave is the pirate HAC bearing down on you and he's much smarter than that old Ogre that got put out to pasture that used a Baldur's Gate NPC AI.
Exactly. If i would be one of those cute animals, i would say something like "you won the internet" ...
Some ideas here actually would support "real" RP - aurora actors taking the parts of the brainless NPC factions - enacting events that can lead to real changes (sov, maybe even stations getting build / changing hands).
Statbased "roleplaying" (amarr get boni to lasers) is more accurately called rollplaying. Amarr loyalists use amarr ships because they would never lower themself into using a ducttapemobile, not because they get the best boni. You cannot force people to stay in character anyway, so its better to create situations where being OOC is difficult or impossible - if amarr ships are best used by amarr characters, more people would create amarr characters (if the ships were any good, that is ;) ), then behave like they still were "gallente", just to get the best boni. Now you not only have created a situation where its harder to explain why an amarr is behaving "unamarr"-esque, but a situation that actually is encouraged via game mechanics. Its bad enough with stats already.

I think it's up to the players to bring life back to RP just as much as it's the Devs.
