Greetings, please allow me to introduce myself. I am Doctor Tobias Theopolis. I am an Ammatar Scientist who has dedicated his life to the discovery of the history of my race the Minmatar to answer the question we all have. What went wrong?
I was enslaved at a very young age. But soon I began to see the truth in the teachings of the Amarrian Lord who owned me. In time I realized the only future that mattered was a future with God as the center of my universe. I shed my clan name and embraced the truth that is free to all who would open their eyes.
I am Ammatar by the Grace of God.
A few months ago I graduated from the College of Advanced Archeology on Chaven and went to work as part of an internship program for Ammatar. The Amarrian Scientists who are my betters by nature still treat me as an equal in the science community. While I am nothing compared to them as a citizen I do know a thing or two about archeology and my passion for history is second to none.
While a boy in the factory on Kehour building the great golden warships I was afforded the opportunity to study the scriptures. They opened my eyes to the truth as I realized these people, the Amarr, are the chosen and it is our duty to obey. I saw the great history of the Amarr and all they stood for. Honor, compassion, loyalty, service. It is a life any man could want and thank God I was offered it.
I was also allowed to talk with the elder Minmatar who worked with me on the great gold ships. They told stories of ancient times, of the ceremony of the mark, the story of the rock and the mountain, I even met one man who as a child saw a Minmatar born with the Ray of Matar. I was intrigued by these stories and sought out more information about Minmatar history. My Master afforded his slaves a library where we could study and it was there, in my off hours, where I learned the joy of history and the thrill of digging a discovery out of the ground.
Now fast forward to today. I am a full scientist for A.M.A.R.R. the Ammatar Ministry of Archeological and Religious Research. Here I join other committed scientists in the search for Minmatar artifacts.
A recent trip to Pator was most rewarding as seen here:
These five ancient Minmatar statues now rest in a safe Amarrian Museum where those of wisdom and knowledge can appreciate them. We have rescued them from the dirt of Pator and returned them home to the true masters of Matar. For this our superior Amarrian Ministry Scientists awarded us a new Omen research ship and a crew to fly it. Now the A.M.A.R.R. Scientists can travel with a fully equipped lab and operate under cloak if needed.
Today though a discovery that has long been an obsession of mine moved one step closer to fruition. Today an "anonymous" Amarrian citizen presented me three Khumaak relics. These are not ordinary relics though instead one proved to be very special. On it was an inscription that could reveal the location of something I read about only in legend as a child but always believed existed.
The Khumaak of course is infamous in Amarr history and reverred to the Minmatar. Just moving these relics into the Empire was a challenge yet we suceeded and now they lie safe in Chaven in a secure vault.
Soon we will return to Pator and save more relics from the negligence that is the Minmatar Republic. Unable to even feed our kin they utterly fail at establishing science and museum facilities to properly catalog and display such relics. It is up to the A.M.A.R.R. to recover these artifacts and return them to the masters of Minmatar our Amarrian rescuers.
Now I must return to study the symbols on the Khumaak. Time is critical if we are to succeed.

I find this "need" to be of even greater interest to me. A cloaked "research vessel" in Pator is merely a polite term for it when used by thieves such as yourselves.
Diplomatically I would be interested to know whet Miludar is doing to retreve these items to which the Amarrians have no claim. Certainly I will be making this a matter a high prioity to the Minmitar Council. Rest assured, these acts of theivery will test the bounderies of diplmacy and Milidar's resolve to preserve or Culture and Heritage.

I offer my congratulations to the A.M.A.R.R. for their efforts on behalf of our Empire. You are a shining example of what a Minmatar can achieve when he accepts God into his life and dedicates his life work to something that benefits the Amarrian Empire. I will be keeping close watch on your endeavours.

Quote: So PIE supports this example of petty theivery?
The Amarr Empire is the lawful ruling body over the Minmatar. The petty rebellion of these slave rabble 800 years ago is just a footnote and in no way eliminates ownership. These slaves are merely "lost property" not "free" as they think.
As we've seen by displays of terrorism, clan warfare, civil war and other examples not the least of which is the sad state of the "Republic" its clear you are incapable of ruling yourself.
To that end I myself as a loyal Amarrian do support the retrival of these artifacts from the negligent hands of the Minmatar so they can be placed in safe secure Amarrian Museums where they will be restored to original condition and displayed for all to see.
The Amarrian Historical Society funds very generously several Museums in the Domain region and as a benefactor myself who donates large sums of isk annually I know the good works they do. I was actually able to view these statues the other day and was most impressed especially when I could look next to the display and see a photograph of the original hole they were dug from.
This is much like allowing a child to play with an expensive antique. You wouldnt do it because the child would break it. So is it in this case with the Minmatar and these artifacts. Artifacts which in fact are Amarrian by virtue of our ownership of the Minmatar. The Minmatar ignore them, funding no museums or research, and let them lie in the dirt where they might be damaged. Thank God these Enlightened Ammatar scientists are willing to help recover these pieces of history.
PIE itself has no official position regarding the artifacts. I merely speak as an interested Amarrian individual who has a large collection of Minmatar relics myself. I have always appreciated the primitive culture of the Minmatar for it is further justification for our subjecation and salvation efforts on their behalf.

Doctor Theopolis.
I had the feeling we would meet again. Being enslaved yourself I understand that you have to bow to your master and that the delusion of "enlightenment" helps you suffer your fate and secures you certain privilegues. So I will not judge upon you.
I do not know where the Minmatar artifacts derive from you picture in your statement and can only imagine the circumstances, so I will not waste our time with speculations. Let me just state that I don't like the idea of Minmatar history being written by anyone else but the Minmatar themselves.
But there is something strange about your statement. I have been called many a thing in my life, but never before an "Amarrian citizen". We both know well who you were referring to and we also both know that there will be few understanding among my people for what I have done. But I have nothing to hide and will face the consequences.
When we met you asked me about my homeworld. I rarely speak about it for it has been drained in blood long ago and has now been terraformed into an ice planet by the Amarrian Empire. Millions have been eradicated, among them many of my ancestors. But my clan survived. From the ashes of Ezzara VI we fled among many others and survived. All that remained of my family heritage were three Khumaaks. The same three Khumaaks you are now holding in your hands, 800 years later.
I have no idea how you found out about my clan, for I have long ago abandoned my clan insignia for my father's treason who cooperated with the Amarr to maintain wealth and respect. He was corrupted for a little bit of land on Ezzara V where my clan now resides. I thought it would be a wise idea to remain silent. I was wrong.
The Minmatar world should know about the circumstances they came into your possession. No other than Archbishop himself is the "Amarrian citizen" and the "Lord" you refer to as your owner. It was him who offered me the lives and souls of seventeen Minmatar slave children who had been seperated from their parents in the liberation of the slave imprisonment camp he called "Port Enlightenment" for the exchange of three Khumaaks.
No symbol can ever be worth the lives of seventeen children. And so I agreed. It is my family heritage you are holding in your hands.
I am Sh'Khari Varis'Rhan of Ezzara. And I will watch you. --

It would be nice if you could speak in honest terms, Amarrian (And that accounts for all your people, be they Amarr, Ni-Kunni, Udorian or Matari of blood). But this veil of words that you weave to hide the truth of your nature is nothing but an annoyance, and will only serve to reaffirm those already on your side to their own righteousness...
Oh, but I had not considered the possibility that you need to have your faith reaffirmed. For how could I, a mere Intaki pagan, ever understand how your people rely on self-dellusionment to stay on their path? My humblest appologies.

Sh'Khari you should know I think of you as a sister, albeit an unenlightened one, as a fellow Matari. I do not speak often of my family origin but I will say perhaps in the past somewhere our families did cross path. My planet also is nothing but barren ice and waste but that is the price of sin and the justice delivered by the Amarrian fleet that wrought Gods will onto the heathen. I am grateful the Amarrians have saved me and shown me the truth.
The three Khumaaks have proven invaluable. While two were merely artifacts the third does in fact carry one of the clues I was looking for. Still I am only one step furthur on my quest and the objects I search for become more and more obscure. I will be returning to Pator shortly in our new Omen research ship the ARS Explorer to search for another item I hope will advance my studies.
Ancient Minmatar history is a passion and what lies in wait could be either the fulfillment of a lifelong dream or a revelation I have wasted my life in search. Only time will tell but with Gods grace and the blessing of the Amarr I know I will succeed.

Dr. Thepolis,
It is good to see other Ammatar doing something other then getting fat off of the work of their ancestors (An activity I got to witness many times while I was in service to the Mandate.) Good luck with your excavations and I will be interested to see your future releases.

Edited by: Corin Raven on 08/08/2006 10:58:05 The response, or lack thereof, to this Horrifies me.
That the last remanants of near dead clan is all that cares about the fact that our culture, our history is being stolen from us in front of our very eyes. The fight against slavery is paramount to all things, but without our history then we are giving those we free nothing. We are enslaving our very spirit to those who would enslave our bodies and our wills.
I remember a time when we rose up to Milidar over the Khuumaak, the very symbol of our freedom. It was after all only an object, and yet the spirit of the Matari was marked on that very day of protest.
Wake up Matari. How long will it be before they steal somehing of greater importance!! -------------------------------

I am amazed that this overt piece of Amarr propaganda is virtually unchallenged academically. Suggesting that the Republic Originally by: Doctor Theopolis "utterly fail[s] at establishing science and museum facilities to properly catalog and display such relics"
is hogwash. There are many research bodies, museums and universities in the Republic (as well as art galleries, restaurants, theatres etc etc). I am currently studying Archeology at the Republic University. I mean no disprespect to the real scientists within Amarr but, truly, the only ones who are duped by such propaganda are the Amarr fanatics themselves. |

Doctor Theopolis sat quietly at his table studying the Khumaak with a microscope. The intricate lettering in some strange language almost imperceptable after centries of wear. Still he could make out most of the inscription...... now if only he knew what it meant.
"Doctor T Doctor T" yelled a young Minmatar boy as he ran into the lab. Looking up he smiled "Yes Shaminar what is it?" he asked as he reached out his hand.
"A message from your friend!!" said the boy as he handed the datacube to the Doctor. Smiling he took it and set it into the holoreader on the corner of the lab table. A figure in a long black cloak appeared, his faced masked by a hood, his hands in his pockets. A low voice spoke....
"Doctor, we have located a possible resting place for the object you seek, we await furthur orders". The message ended promptly and the figure shimmered away.
The boy looked at the doctor "What did they find for you?" he asked innocently.
"Something I've been looking for for a long time my boy" said the Doctor smiling. "Run along now and study you have alot of work to do". "Yes Master Doctor T" said the boy running out. The young child, a slave of his own, was studying both scriptures and Minmatar history. He had a zeal for archeology himself that so impressed the Doctor that he took him in as an apprentice.
Moving from the table he punched a few buttons on the wall and then moved to a glowing disc shaped assembly in the middle of the lab where he stood. In front of him the image of a man in a simple brown robe appeared.
"Yes Theopolis?" said Archbishop politely as the Doctor bowed then stood upright again.
"My Lord, the recon team on Pator has found something they say may be of interest to me. I will proceed to Rens tomorrow then on to Pator this weekend to begin the dig" reported the Doctor.
"Excellent news Doctor I am happy they have been successful. And now some other news, it seems one of the UshraKhan has a stone which may interest you" said Archbishop. To his left a three dimensional stone appeared holographically.
"We have only images of the stone but there appear to be some very intricate properties" he said as the stone rotated seemingly in midair before the image faded.
Doctor Theopolis stared in awe then said excitedly "I must have this artifact! Can you send the detail to me my Lord?".
"Of course I shall transmit all the information shortly. The object is heavily guarded but I believe we have a way to obtain it. It is very dangerous" said Archbishop.
"I understand my Lord and I will be careful. Thank you for locating this object and I will contact you from Rens" said Theopolis.
"Very good....... I may join you near Pator as well....... so watch for my ship" said Archbishop smiling as the doctor nodded in understanding.
"By your leave my Lord" said the Doctor bowing as the image of Archbishop faded out. Theopolis moved from the holostage and returned to the Khumaak on the desk. He didnt study it merely stared at is as his mind wandered back in time to his old life of "freedom" and the suffering it entailed. No food, no shelter, death, disease, then he thought of his rescue by the Amarrians and how they brought him to the truth of God.
All he was as a person he owed to the Amarrians and he would not fail them.

Research Log The Emperors Research Ship Discovery I Omen Class Exploration Cruiser Location: Classified Report: Destination Reached - Awaiting contact in three days
"I have entered the system near my destination and will prepare myself for the mission to come. I have a firm location for the item in question and will make the purchase in three days. I have received the funds and will report as soon as the exchange has been completed. Theopolis out." The viewscreen recorder shut off and he turned around.
"Encode it and send it to His Lordship immediately" he said handing the data crystal to the officer behind him.
"Yes Doctor" said the Captain as he left for the bridge leaving Doctor Theopolis to his work. This meeting was risky yet the clue he sought was crucial to the entire puzzle. The Khumack back in Chaven in his lab sat only partially deciphered. Without this next clue it was worthless to him.
The Omen sat under cloak as several Rifter class ships passed by. He watched through the viewscreen and noticed the blood red fist painted haphazardly on the side of each. The stakes had gotten higher indeed.

Research Log The Emperors Research Ship Discovery I Omen Class Exploration Cruiser Location: Pator Orbit Report: Mission Accomplished - Returning to Chaven Laboratory
"Excellent...... Excellent" said the wide eyed Doctor Theopolis as he stood over the three ancient Temple Stones laid out before him on the table. A crowd surrounded the table looking at the ancient relics. Theopolis looked across the table at the Captain of the TERS Discovery I and smiled.
"An magnificant discovery Doctor you are to be congratulated" said the Khanid born Captain, an Amarrian Loyalist, to the Doctor.
"Thank you Captain I am most pleased. This was an unexpected find but one that is most welcome. Now please prepare to depart tomorrow evening for Chaven. One more trip to the surface to look for stray artifacts and then we can return home".
"Aye Doctor" said the Captain as he glanced to his Executive Officer.
"OK everyone, out, leave the Doctor to his work" said the Exec as everyone spoke excitedly about the find. Slowly the people filed out of the large conference room leaving only Doctor Theopolis and the stones.
Glancing out the large window the Doctor saw a small Punisher class ship approach for docking. It attached itself via a retractable docking cuff to the side of the Omen one deck below the bridge level. A few moments later a buzzer sounded at a side lift.
"Enter" said the Doctor as the door slide open silently. A man in a black cloak and hood entered and bowed.
"Good day Doctor" he said with an almost silent voice. "My master sends his regards and wishes to congratulate you on your discovery".
"Thank you and tell your Master it would not be possible if not for the generosity of loyal Amarrians such as himself" replied the Doctor as he nodded. The man slowly approached the table.
"Amazing..... hundreds of years old...... incredible" he said in awe staring at the three temple stones on the table.
"Indeed they are" said the Doctor as he picked one off the table and placed it in a blast proof case on the floor.
"Please take this to your Master for his inspection. Guard it closely. It is his to inspect for as long as he wishes. I only ask it be brought to Chaven when I return".
"Of course Doctor and thank you" said the man as he picked up the case. "I will take my leave of you" he said slowly bowing.
Doctor Theopolis returned the bow and smiled. "Go with God" he said as the man replied "and you as well". Then he was gone.
Doctor Theopolis moved over to the window and watched the Punisher detach from the side of the Omen and move off. Once a safe distance away it warped off in a flash of light. Slowly a shimmering glow moved around the ship as he watched the planet Pator below in slow orbit. The shimmering of the cloaking device on the cruiser indicated they would be safe from hostile attention.
Returning to the table he smiled as he slowly touched the surface of the two remaining stones. The altar they were recovered from was hundreds of years old and while the stones were nothing more than simple building blocks they represented some sort of religion for the Minmatar. The altar had been nearly destroyed and only these three blocks remained undamaged.
It was nearly time for bed yet Doctor Theopolis could only think about tomorrows final trip to the surface of Pator. He wanted to ensure no more relics were left behind. These primitive Minmatar he thought, leaving such valuables to the elements, living without God and service. He wondered how they survived at all.
Moving out of the conference room into the lift he closed his eyes as it dropped two decks to his quarters. Exiting into a stateroom that was more like a laboratory he crawled into the small bunk in the corner and quickly drifted off to sleep. Tomorrow was a new day and he needed his rest.
Meanwhile out in space the Punisher warped at maximum speed to Amarr.......

Sepherim heard the news with interest in his pod. The journey was being a safe one, and so he finally had some time to update himself with what was happening in the outside of his ship. And certainly, the recovery of the Khuumak and other ancient objects of the Minmatar was a good news, specially coming fom an Ammatar. It proved that all that the Empire worked for, bleeded for, and wept for, was indeed true, that it was possible to Enlighten those that were left in the Dark by God.
