EVE owns 1% of the MMORPG market while WOW owns over 50%.
Why is it that there are over 250 items for sale for EVE and just over 150 for WOW.
Is EVE run off EBay these days?!?

I also read on the WoW site that the thing they call "World Pvp" was actually just a name for another battleground. Clever name to bring players back to WoW, but I cant help but thinking that it will hurt their reputation in the end.

also in wow , if you want realy good equip , you need to farm it all the good items are BOP
i cant see a reason why you would buy gold in wow , 5 minutes manufacturing each day will give you all the gold youll ever need

Well, its a kids game. You cant lose it and you cant loot players. Basicly its just about grinding gear. And when enough people have good gear, Blizzard opens some new dungeon with some new gear the kids feel they must have. :)
Edit: Of course not only kids play it though. Its fun for a short while. But its easy to see it doesnt have any lasting value.

Yeah I will definently check that one out too, but it looks like a late 2007 release. :(
This is what i like the most about Conan btw:
Massive epic battles û This is the ultimate large-scale PvP form where guilds and coalitions of players can build their own cities in the border kingdoms, and fight it out in massive battles. Just think of it! Engines of war, mounted warriors charging on horses and camels, formations of players struggling for every inch of land, tearing down walls or breaking through the formations of the enemy!
Im not sure if there will be real losses and looting though. I hope so. And it better not be instanced.. then i wont bother with it.

Combat takes place in a area which the servers create specially for the combat duration. Nobody else but the players involved see what is going on. Its cut off from the game world.

there still resetting the game world every few weeks aswell? one of the most stupid ideas in an mmorpg EVER! they couldnt possibly let people take over a port and keep it until someone else can take it back
can you imagine how lame eve would be if they moved all the alliances back to empire every month and reset sov
btw they were doing it so if you lost a battle that your ship would still be yours but you wouldnt be able to select it for a certain ammount of time. dont know if thats changed or not but i doubt it

As the Eve engine is fundamentally based on stargates, you'd have to have your ships dissapearing down some water vortex and appear somewhere else after n seconds of "travel". All PvP between pirates would take place at the vortex. YARR!
Not really. A gate is an "end of grid". A sea based EvE could have gates located at the end of a canal, etc. You dont need to create a huge sea world like Earth. You can create a part of Earth i.e. some place with many islands, isles, archipelagos, etc. Would be fun to play sea pirate but also quite boring. Long travel time because you need to sail slowly. not strictly true, if you are within a certain range and part of a group already in the battle, or you are also eligible to join if freindly and if someone within the battle launches a distress flare (eg someone from same faction as you) and you are in range of the flare you are also eligible to join.

Conan = Funcom
Not going to get within smelling distance. Get a Anarchy Online trial and try out Funcom for yourself.
Sure the graphics will be much upgraded over AO, but the underlying rot is still there.
Not long before I quit AO, Funcom decided to fix a bug in PvP looting (the looter could delete nodrop items from the corpse) by REMOVING PVP LOOTING completely.
I have faith that Conan will follow a similar path, Funcom at heart is not a PvP company. Whereas CCP is by griefers, for griefers. --

Barley enyone plays anymore?? SB is dead?? man you should check into what your talking about more. SB is enjoying a revival atm with numbers to rival the amount of people who were on 6 months after launch. Now I will agree with the graphics part but they will be upgrading them in the future. Play diablo 2 in hardcore and come back stating that after you died WoW on the other hand is only easy mode, once you acquire an item you can't loose it.
And even the more exclusive owning items are BoP (Bind on Pickup), all other items with some magic to them are BoE (Bind on Equip). Once bound to you, you can't even sell the thing. Meaning no market, no use for it to sell it on EBay and no use for loads of golds sinse you won't find the uberloot on the market (wich market?).
The good things about eve is the open player based market, liked that one of SWG as well (before they killed that game with their updates). I'm now trying out Saga of Ryzom and the market looks pretty good as well, good items only player crafted. No item loots, only mats on animals and dappers (money) on npc. Don't ask me after the pvp aspect though don't know yet.
