Industrial fitted with nanos? (if so, which one?) Osprey with cargo hold extenders? What do you use?

I go through phases of thinking one thing or another is best. At the moment I use a sigil. With 5 nanos in the low slots, 10MN AB and sensor boosters in mids and 2 tractor beams in highs it makes quick work of looting. 3150m¦ of hold even with basic skills is plenty. It's also really quick to train for - only needs Amarr frigate 3 and Amarr industrial 1.
This is particularly useful when I use a sniping mission ship, which tends to string out the loot cans. If your cans are more clustered because you warp in and sit in one place, a BS with more tractors might be more time efficient.
Edit: More info.

Exequror maybe? Bonus to cargohold.

Sigil is probably the best alternative.
However, since I won't set foot in an Amarr ship, I use a Prowler, which is also fine. Over 4000m3 cargo, can fit 2 tractor beams and speed is around 900m/s. Overshoots just a little though. A bit of luxury to use a t2 ship for loot collecting? Maybe, but a Probe just isn't big enough for level 4 loot.
If you don't have the Minmatar Transport skill, and don't mind Amarr, a Sigil should is great.

Exequror is about the best (or some equivalent cargo-bonus cruiser to suit your race) ... excepting the odd mission where you get too much loot to fit in it in one go. For those, an Iteron V is the best option, but it takes far too long to get into; a Sigil works just fine. ________________________________________________

Exequror is fairly good. I normally mount:
2x Tractor 1x Medium Remote Armour Repairer (35km+ repping range) 1x Medium Pulse Laser
1x 10MN AB 3x ??? As you want. EW is useful sometimes
3x Expanded Cargohold I

That's good for a loot-collecting partner ... I think the OP was on about cleaning up after you've completed the mission, in which case, four tractor beams 4tw ________________________________________________

my favorite is a dominix...
Use 6 tractor beams and 4-6 cargo expanders in the lows...
The extra nice bit is you can start looting on the 2.account before the battle ends.
Also, the drone bay and mid spots can help bring down rats well too...
This helps with many of the bs heavy L4, as once you get the small stuff out of the way, you send in the looter bs, unlease the heavy drones on the enemy bs, and begin sucking up cans.
Also, with a mwd or ab, you can still make decent speed... This lets you speed to far away bs and web them so the slow tanking bs can creep into range for better weapons--blasters or pulse lasers...
Lastly you can easily get 2000m3 cargo but 1500m3 is opitimal. |

Looks like the Sigil is the winner for me :) I don't have any gallente ship skills. Would have never looked it if you hadn't mentioned it, thanks.

Coercer with 4x Cargo Expanders, tractor beams plus MWD/AB works pretty decent. ~600m3 space, and quick too.

That's the one i'm using. 4 Tractor beams, AB, MWD, 3 Cap Recharges (Barton) 4 Cargo expanders
Speed is ~180 m/s raw. I can run the AB for ever, MWD for a couple of mins. So getting somewhere is no real problem.
With my skills, this setup gives me 1573 m^3 Cargo, which is enough to loot most (non-drone) lvl 4s. The Barton cap recharges are the left overs from an upgrade from my Domi, and the cargo expanders are the best I looted from the missions, I could use my Iterion V as well, but it's to damn slow for anything then station to station hawling.

The following bonuses may be awarded to you: 27 units of Basic Expanded Cargohold at if you complete the mission |

Yes Domi makes an awesome Uber looter, 2 nanos and 5 expanders plus a "huge" secure can gives 2,350m3 and at least 400 m/s (I get 500 m/s with a couple of snakes and an x-type AB.)which is about as much as you need if you dont want to have cans drop off the tractor. An Mwd is useful for long sprints between groups of cans. I just set my can BM at the first can, warp in and select "approach" the can at the opposite end, just cruise thro targeting and opening cans in a smooth sweep.(zigzagging to catch the outlying cans on the way.) with only 4 tractors on an exeq I had to keep stopping to catch up with the cans.
I loot after close of mission, but also I follow a Carrier on missions where he has total aggro and im safe to loot as he fights, I deploy my Med drones to kill the frigs that annoy the carrier or the fighters.
Usual response to this is "yeah but what a waste of A Domi or not everyone has that much isk to spend" point 1. The looter Domi also serves as a backup combat ship should I lose my main Domi, just a quick refit and im out again. Point 2. If your doing lvl 4 missions your earning enough to buy that Domi in 1 to 2 days of mission running ;) so cost isnt an issue.
note: if I flew any other BS I would just pick the same one as a looter, to give me the Backup if main is lost, Any BS makes a great looter.
I think the Tier 3 BS with 8 tractors (and an autotargeter to allow 8 targets) will replace my Domi when they are released Need multitasking skill for that tho.

Wow, where did you find an Exequror with 5 mids and 4 lows?!? Mine only has 4 and 3.
Seriously though, my loot collector is an Exequror with 4x TBs, AB, Cap rechargers and 3x Nanos in the lows. Fast and plenty of space.
Cheers, Arrs.

I find it best to drag the cans to one place using a destroyer with nanos and fully loaded with tractors. I use a Thrasher with 6 tractors at the moment, although a Catalyst can have 7 targets, so am considering trying that out.
For those missions with more than a Thrasher's worth of loot, I go get an Iteron V. I picked up the idea from another poster on here, forget who now. With 5 nanos and an afterburner it can do 700+m/s and carries 7500m3.

Hoarder myself. Upsides, with an AB its fast. Downsides, it only has one high slot (therefore 1 tractor beam).
Ive taken the hint above and started dragging loot to one point as im fighting, this speeds up things alot and as everyone is aware. The faster you do any mission, the sooner you get your $$$.

heh Raven with 6 tractor beams and 2 large smarties Gist B type 100MN MWD and T2 AB plus a load of cap rechargers and cap batteries all nanos in lows
I use the smart bombs to clear structures when needed, I can hit 2km/s with the MWD (use the AB in deadspace) I can carry 665m3. I only have cap issues when using the smarties.
Plus it means I always have a spare Raven if lag-death claims my primary. Since it can take weeks to get a ship back I like to have a spare :D

Besides the fact that your setup setup is definitely wrong (medium and low slots numbers are wrong for this ship) I would like to point out you can expand your cargo even further. If you have over 1501 cargo space (which you can get with expanders and Gallente cruiser V) then you can fit a Large Secure container which can hold 1900m3. The only downside to this is that you can't jetisson from containers inside the cargo. But if you can get over that, 1900m3 cargo for a cruiser is pretty damn nice. You'll be able to loot in one run almost all level 4 missions.

Typhoon. 7 lows = 5 expanders, 2 nanofibers 4 meds = 100mn AB, cap recharger (or a sensor booster) 8 highs = 7 looters, 1 cloak (though the cloak increases locking times)
or u could go for 8 looters, but need to sacrifice 1 low for that sensor enhancer thingy t2, that gives u another to max targets so u got 8
