Think of it like playing a game of Chess and you notice that both of your Bishops are on the same color. Neither you nor your partner can remember how that happened, so there's no way to retrace your steps. The fairest thing to do in a case like that is restarting the game from the beginning, which is akin to what power-cycling a device does. This analogy makes no sense whatsoever and most probably doesn't even apply.
