OK I know this is a pretty general question. I mainly need some direction not necesarily specifics.
I currently can fly Gallente up to BS and Calderi up to Cruiser. I can not use T2 guns and not to sure which other fittings I can use as have not really tried many.
I have been running lvl3 missions with a Mega but I know that is really over kill. Mainly I'm making up for lack of skill and fitting knowledge with pure fire power. I found this out when I tried a lvl 4 mission and damned near didn't get out in one piece.
I've been tanking with hardners specific to the mission NPC. My main problem is what weapons to use. If I use say 350's or 425's the rats seem to get in under them. If I use Dual 250's I don't seem to do enough damage quick enough. I can use missiles up to cruise also.
Can someone point me in a direction. I'm just wandering around lost right now. LOL

Blasters maybe? Or, you can try using an AB to keep at range longer, and kill anything that is faster than you. Also you may want to consider fitting a stasis web, which will allow you to hit (some) cruisers and the like under your optimal as well as BS. Don't forget you have a nice little drone bay.

I wondered about blasters.
Would it be beneficial to maybe mix some rails and blasters?
I notice many set-ups are using all the same like maybe 6 425's but doesn't that limit me to a certain range variable only with ammo? Maybe fit 3 dual 250's and three blasters?
Then I'm also confused about the missile bays. I know cruise have the most damage but can't hit anything fast. Would I be best to maybe fit a heavy and a standard or 2 heavies?

Whatever you do dont mix weapons. Its never a good idea and almost a standard EVE rule. It makes fighting too difficult. Use all blasters, more damage and better overall. Rails are crappy DPS and a bit of range, but not enough to use them. Youll still get overrun so you need close weapons.
If you cant beat something, arrange to have it beaten.

How about a Dominix? With 250mm rails and a mix of drones, you should be able to rip through any level 3.

I've got a Domi I use for lo sec mining. I've never fitted it for fighting.
Would I tank it similar to the Mega? Fill it with Dual 250's? or heavier rails?
