I am very new when it comes to the EGSEx, however on the 5th of August I made my first purchase, or at least tried to. 1000 shares of EMFI at 16k per share and 2% charge from the broker. So I click the buy button, fill in the amount I want and it tells me to send the Isk to the broker, which I do.
Three days later and I have no shares to show for it. On the EGSEx site is says that all transactions will try to be completed within 24 hours. It has been about 69 hours.
I have contacted the broker twice as I write this, the 2nd eve mail I have just sent as a follow up.
Now, since I am new to this my first question is "Have I done something wrong?" Maybe I did not follow correct proceedure or there was an oversight. However if I have not made a mistake I would like toknow what my options are, if any? Has this happened to anyone else?

Talen, firstly, Does your order show up on "MyEgsex" as being 'in progress' ? If that is the case I don't think you have done anything technically wrong.
Secondly, EGSEx works on the concept of clients picking their own trusted broker (ie. a broker you trust) The order and transaction is purely between 2 individuals, the client and the broker. If you picked a broker you don't trust you have made a mistake in picking a non-trusted broker.
If you did pick a broker you trust, I suggest you contact your trusted broker.
(I know this sounds harsh, and I sort of agree that there aren't ennough warnings about this on the EGSEx website)
Some brokers on EGSEx are on vacation, or missing in action.

First of all: sorry to hear this story here.
I checked the database and found no trace of a transaction or order entered by 'Talen Cross'. This might ofc be an alt post so please submit me the right info (Charname - Broker - Timestamp) so I can look in to it (by eve-mail -> will last till tonight till I check or e-mail to shubau[at-symbol]gmail[dotted]com in which case I will look into this immediatly).
But before you do make sure you: a) have the transaction show up in your MyEGSE. b) you sent the isk to the right person (some brokers have names which can easaly be mistyped) - shouldn't be the first time that happens c) check your wallet to see if the broker hasn't returned your isk (because of lacking transaction in EGSE database) Aaro'ne Erviale CEO of EVE Galactic Stock Exchange

I recently put up some shares for sale on the EGSE, and ran into the problem that the EGSE said they were sold, but I didn't receive any money. I contacted my broker about this, he responded very quickly and said he'd look into it. It took him some time (but I'm a patient man), but the result was that I did eventually get my money, with a sincere apology about the delay.
So in my experience, if you haven't made any mistakes yourself, the situation will be resolved.

Thank you all for your replies, the broker has contacted me.
I turns out that I may not have completed the transaction in detail. At this point it seems to be entirely my fault. I will have to try again. I would like to apologise to the EGSEx incase I may have brought their repution under question.
Looking forward to getting started on trading.

I take it that I don't have to setup my own buy orders? I can just give money to a selected broker who has an existing sell order?
For example, clicking on the EMFI tab brings up a list of sell orders and buy orders.
For me to purchase some shares from the existing sell orders I just click buy it, then enter the amount of shares I want (3000 available and I buy 1000). Then I click the confirmation button and send the isk in Eve? -------------------------

Just make sure you go to the end of the transaction. Then you're automatically taken to your "MyEGSE" page. There you can see what steps to take before your broker start handling your transaction.

I have indeed contacted Talen Kross.
I must have overlooked his first evemail, the 5th of August was a chaotic (remember Aaro'ne )
As I had stated, I saw the transfer of isk, but didn't see the transaction on the page, so I decided to wait a bit. If there still are problems, try to make the transaction again, without wiring the money offcourse, and I'll process it.
We try to keep the reputation of the EGSE (and myself as a broker) high, since your trust can easily be lost in this business. I hope we cleared things out fast enough and that there will be no more of this inconveniences in the future.
Sincerely, Ferrosa
