I'm wondering if it's possible to fit a Covert Ops Cloak using ship (Force Recon ships only i believe?) with enough Spike/Burst DPS to use as a "Softener" attack vessel, and if so which vessel would make the best one. An example being, 1 or more CovOps Cloaked vessels move in on a primary target under cloak while main force is preparing to engage the enemy. When the vessels are inrange, they hit their target with 1-2 volleys, then warp out to safety, and start over. Idea being concentrated unexpected fire doing high dmg to specific targets to soften them up enough to either kill them out right, or allow main force to take them down that much faster. Appreciate any insight or advice.

It's only possible with Stealth Bombers, except they don't use covert ops cloaks. --------------------- Originally by: Herko Kerghans Nik = win. Period.

Not really, none of the force recons have even remotely good DPS. Of course a group of force recons won't need to warp off, as the target will be jammed, webbed, warp scrambled, and nos-ed before it can do anything. So you won't be killing it too quick, but it'll be nice and helpless for reinforcements to arrive.

2 Pilgrims, for example, are very dangerous and can take out multiple ships by themselves. Also, Combat recons can dish out upto 500dps while tanked, so its the goat to float your boat. --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |

So i'm better off going with a Combat Recon with Cloak II then. Still new so hashing out ideas about how i'd like to play.

True, but he said the covert ops cloak is mandatory, so combat recons are out. And the Pilgrim, while a very nice ship, doesn't really fit his alpha-strike role.

I'd reccommend putting a cloak on a 720 II fitted, sensor boosted Munnin perhaps. Sig removed, lacks Eve-related content - Cortes |
