Now when AMD bought ATi they will also stop using the name ATi on their graphic cards and start using there own name AMD instead. It is also unsure if they are going to keep the Radeon name or not.
AMD X1900 anyone?

1) Source?
2) I doubt they are going to throw away a name as established as Ati. They are probably going to put something along the lines of "powered by AMD" on the boxes, but nothing more.

Chances of dropping a well established productname are pretty damn low if you ask me.

For a while, the commonly held belief that gaming was best with an AMD processor and a nVidia videocard. Now, AMD has bought nVidia's primary competition, and will now be competing with nVidia for videocard market share.
Do you think that nVidia will start working closer with Intel, especially now that the new Intel (C2, or whatever they are called) chips are out?

I doubt this will change anything. ATi has been awarded the "Our video cards can't render smoke/fog" a while ago. Talk about bad rep when your video card can't do one of the most expected things. nVidia will remain the top performance video card and they know what they're doing. AMD will remain the top performance gaming CPU due to obvious reasons, Intel is more of a multi-tasking and Photoshop type CPU anyhow. when it comes down to it, AMD and nVidia are the leaders of which that is gaming.

Whats funny is that the top end core2 motherboards with the intel 975x chipset are all Crossfire, intel is more or less ignoreing sli chipset atm

maybe 1-2 years ago.. thats not the case anymore. look at the benchmarks of the fx-62 vs. an e6600. or we could compare both manufacturers top chips. fx-62 vs x6800. its night and day. when you have a processsor like an e6600 or an x6800, sli is pointless

Nvidia wont license the SLI technology to Intel. ATI have been making intel chipsets as well. Looks like the best gaming combination is gonna be ATI/Intel, Crossfire/Conroe next year.
