Just curious if CCP is going to push for some more coverage in EVE, I know some of you are complaining we got enough people/lag but new subscribers = more money = more nodes?
Anyone heard of any such thing, I mean with the higher res graphics and EVE being much more than it was 3 years ago it's gotta generate some interest right?

I think CCP is on it; with the release of it's card game. If it gets a good release I imagine there will be an influx of new players the likes of which CCP has not yet experienced. Certainly, that is their aim anyway.
If the card game is well developed and the card players like it enough, once they discover that it is already a MMO, I have a feeling they may come in droves.
EDIT: In fact, I bet within the first month (prediction), EVE will break a new world record of simultaneous logged in players on a single server for a MMO of over 30k. That's fairly modest prediction from the ~25k record they hold now.

The record is above 27k already (heck, I keep seing over 25k people most of the time I log in), they just didn't "publish" it, I guess they wait for a round number (30k+) this time :)

Well, whatever the current record is, I see it getting broken soon after the release of the card game. Provided marketing for the cards has been sucessfull. I look forward to it. It's pretty lonely in Empire space right now.

Edited by: Clais Monaige on 13/08/2006 13:28:51 CCP is at Games Convention this year (again? dunno...), and Germany is afaik the biggest gaming market in Europe, so i think it will have a big presentation with all whistles and jingles, with some luck with a new trailer
About the card game - i don't now how successfull card games are outside Europe, but "here" card games are very limited in comparison to the success of computer games, so i doubt it would have much impact on subscriptions... _____________________________ - be excellent to each other -
