Edited by: Dorque on 09/08/2006 10:49:13 I just finished training for a brutix and im waiting until i have enough skills to use it currently my gunnery skills are slightly low (only 3 in gunnery and 2 in support skills) Also only have hull upgrades 3 and mechanic 2 and repair systems 2.
Just finished drones 5 as well. This is a basic rundown of my skills as well as BC at lvl 1.
Now so i dont go out and get blown up in seconds can someone give me some tips on having addequette(sp?) skills?

I would also like to know what skills one should have for the Brutix.
I guess it depends on the setup, but there still has be some common ones?

For starters, raise that BC skill. The brutix gets a 7.5% boost to amount repaired per level of the BC skill, so at 4 you get a whopping 30% bonus to amount repaired. Couple that with a med repper 2 (which requires Repair Systems 4) and your tank is looking a lot better.

As the above poster said. "Battlecruiser" 4. I would also recommend "Medium Hybrid Turret" on 4, and all other Gunnery Skills on 4 or 3. "Energy System Operation" and "Energy Managment" 4. "Hull Upgrades" 4, so you can use Active Hardeners and the "Combat Drone Operation" Skill at least on 3.

What you can do it check the skill requirement of the ship and each of the fitted modules, write them down.
Then open the market and uncheck the 'Show only available' checkbox.
Now read the description and attribute of every existing skill in game, and write down every skill which give a bonus to what you are doing.
Then you have the list of all related skills for your ship and setup. Sort them by priority with those making the biggest difference first, and train them all to level IV.
Afterward you may want to train some of them to level V.
Do this everything you are asking yourself which skills to train for something, and soon you'll be an expert answering the new pilots asking this in the forums.

Edited by: Slimy on 09/08/2006 21:12:09 Since you got Drones 5, you might as well grab the first 3 ranks of Drone Interfacing. That'll give your drones a ton more punch, and shouldn't take too long.
Battle cruiser 3. Eventually, you'll want 4.
Scout Drones to 4 (for drone link augmentors), Hull upgrades 4 (hardeners), targeting (more things targetted at once) and long range targeting.
Shore up the gunnery skills, (Gunnery 4, Med Hybrid 3 (you can revisit it later to bring it to 4)), plus support skills.
Energy Emmissions Systems 3.
Since you sound like you're ready to start level 3's now, I'd put that off anything that lasts more than a day and a half, until you get the cheap-and-easy skills up. Then you can revisit skills that you would like to have at level 4 or 5.

Frigates and cruisers are nice for speed but once you start getting into anything bigger you will notice your speeds are alot slower, navigation was one of the first skills I took to level 5 because I used to travel alot, also spaceship command and evasive maneuvering will increase your ships agility allowing you to turn faster, this helps if you get in a tight stop and need to align for warp asap.
You never really want to stay still in any missions as a moving target is harder to hit and missiles will also do less damage to you if you are moving faster. And if you ever plan to tryout a nice close range setup you will be glad you trained up navigation as you will be getting into firing range much faster.
I trained my battlecruiser skill to 5 as I needed it for command ships, I find that because of the ships bonus there are many missions where I used to fit 2 medium repairs but now I only need 1 as the bonus is very nice, not to mention the extra damage it gives to my railguns.
If you plan to use the Brutix alot you might want to hold off on the drone skills for a while and try and get into tech2 railguns as the ship has no drone bonus, try to always use the ships bonus (bonuses? boni? who cares!) to your advantage.
On the other hand there is a nice gallente battlecruiser coming out sometime which is rumoured to be a drone ship so you might want to keep the drones skills up if drones are your thing.

Battlecruisers 3, preferably 4 Hull Upgrades 4 (for active hardeners) Repair Systems 4 (armour rep II) Drone Interfacing 3/4
If you don't have good cap skills (Energy Management / Energy Systems Operation) then you'll probably need a cap battery. A couple of small railguns are also useful for dealing with tough frigates. Oh, and the fitting skills Engineering/Electronics to at least 4.
You should be fine for all level 3 missions with that, if you fit the right hardeners and manage your cap well; you might have to warp out on some of the harder ones until you're used to them.
