Ive been playing eve for about a week now. Ive been cruising through the forums as well. Ive tried out most weapons and of them all i like art cannons, missles and drones. Now that i have gallente frigates 3 im wondering what ship spec would be best for drones and missles. Ive looked at alot of ships but im not sure, caldari seem to have alot of ships with missle bays but no drone bays while gallente have drone bays but only gun turrets. In the future i plan on training interceptors until i can get a carrier. I also like dabbling in electronic warfare. Any advice on ships would be great.

I was also wondering how drones fare dpswise compared to other weapons and what theyre main purpose is in pvp.

That just screams Typhoon. But if you pick that, you got a long road of training ahead of you before you are semi-effective. Once you got the skills though, I find the Phoon quite a fun ship. Mainly in PvP, but it also does okay as a poor mans Raven in PvE.

Drones and missiles do not really coexist much, droneships typically don't have many missile bays, and missile ships don't usually have many drones. I think your best bet for a final destination ship might be a Typhoon, which does a fair bit of everything.
Interceptors won't take too long to get to, but carriers will take a looooong time. Meanwhile, flying a variety of ships and working on drone and missile skills would be best until you get into the Typhoon, or maybe a Raven. I really don't know of any other ships that have significant drone and missile capacity.

What kind of dps do missiles have in comparison to drones endgame, does either have a ranged advantage?
