I have been playing with the Apoc and Retribution now for ages and have decided to swap to the Armageddon for PVP for a change really. It is to be used solo and in gangs. I have max cap skills, max fitting skills including advanced weapon upgrades to 5, and Amarr BS 5.
My suggested fitting is something like:
8 Dual Heavy Pulse II
1 100mn AB II 1 20km Scram 1 Heavy Electrochemical Cap Booster
1 Large Armour Repper II 3 Active Hardners (kin, therm and exp) 1 Internal Force Field Array 1 1600mm Rolled Tungsten 2 Heat Sink II
Hobgoblin II's Hammerhead II's
Any Suggestions

The Apoc's influence on your setup is apparent.
Victory is the weakness of the enemy. |

Edited by: Laboratus on 10/08/2006 09:53:27 I'd change the LAR II to another 1600mm plate, and the 2 the kinetic and thermal hardeners to EANM II s. That makes the tank mostly passive, you will survive a lot longer in gang fights, as it takes longer to knock through the armour. The xpl hardener could be changed to a named DCU, but I'm not quite sure. It could give more hp, as you get 50-56% resistances on Hull. In addition to the increased resistances in shields and armour.
Edit: Almost forgot. 3 Heat sink t2s are great. Never leave home without them:) Mind control and tin hats |

For solo use: Anything smaller than BC will pretty much own that setup without Web + Nos imo.

Wrong.
DHP II hit cruisers just fine. With 2-3 Heat sinks cruisers are dead before they can get anywhere near you.
Against stuff like Deimoses a web is nice. Only time i've been popped by one is when i got multiple webbed by a Deimos and 2 inties, couldn't manoveur to reduce transversal, and managed to fit 4 Mag Stab IIs instead of Heat sink IIs. Cue the rest of CELES proclaiming i'm a noob.
So the Deimos ended up with 25% armor when i died. Boooooo...
7 DHP II
Injector, Scram, Web
1 Large T2, 2 EAN II, 1 Dmg Control, 2 1600 plates, 2 Heat Sink II.
Or
7 Mega Pulse II
1-2 Sensor Booster II, Web, Scram
2 EAN II, Dmg control, 3 1600 Tungsten, 2 HS II
Survivable.
Your setup uses way too much CPU, and use Explosive drones and mix up your damage types.

I almost lost a Geddon to a Cerb/Wolf pair once because I thought like that. (the Cerb pilot was a "friend" so he offered me a ransom instead )
Only AB, no web, out solo. Wolf tackles and Cerb warps in, moves to 0m and DHP misses everything. MWD + web would have let me place distance and hit the Cerb, nos would have let me disable both of them.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

0 range means missiles hits and turrets don't. Think it boarders on an exploit to do that, but thats my oppinion.
Anyways, on topic.
I were trying to think slightly out of the box, and fitted 5 hvy web drones to free up a med slot. It worked well agenst a balsterthron, because he never got within range. (yeah, we didn't startup at totally close range). And it was nice to have a t1 web with 45km range
It didn't work well when we started up close, because I didn't have a MWD on.
Just a suggestion you can throw in the garbage can or use.

Thanks for your replies. I like the idea of using Web Drones to free up a mid slot. When I finish work I thinkk I will try this setup.
7 DHP II
1 Cap Booster 1 20km Scram 1 AB/MWD (I like a bit of speed when using pulses)
1 LAR II 2 EANM II 1 DC 2 1600mm 2 HS II
Web Drones.

Frankly, i'm more amused at the light neutron blaster on the deimos than the magstabs on the geddon
Either way, without a web, the geddon is dead meat to any short range ship that gets under its guns. Especially solo, often no web will mean your target MWD's out of range, or gets under your guns and kills you.

Typically I would avoid a Heavy cap injector unless you were using a dual rep setup, but I haven't flown that many 'geddons in PVP outside of POS removal. I would give something like this a try though:
7 Dual Heavy Pulse II 1 Nos
1 100mn AB II 1 20km Scram 1 Medium Cap Booster or 1 ECCM or 1 Sensor Booster
1 Large Armour Repper II 2 EANM II 1 Internal Force Field Array 2 1600mm Rolled Tungsten 2 Heat Sink II
Hobgoblin II's Hammerhead II's
I'd probably lean towards the ECCM or the Sensor Booster personally, but it depends on how much you think cap will be an issue. You could also try replacing the Hammerheads with medium ECM drones given the high price of Hammerhead IIs and the effectiveness of ECM.
